I know arguing about religion is forbidden on this forum, so if the mods think I should remove any of this, just let me know, and it shall be done!

Sorry for going offtopic here, Mods, but that was hilarious!
Now, back on topic!

I'm fine with this Discussion but can we please keep it clean? we're entering dangerous territory
As for the discussion it self, I'm fine with it, It's that person's life and feelings, who are you to intrude upon it, or have a problem?
Besides i would'nt exactly call it a defining factor any way. People are Gay, get over it.
Let's just stick to discussing our own preferences, perhaps commenting on the view of others, rather than pulling apart statements made by others. It's not nice to do that, and I do not want to see this thread locked because everyone can't play nice.
On topic, I don't know if I'm straight or bi, since I've never been attracted to nayone other than my current boyfriend
S.E.X, S.e.x.u.a.l.i.t.y, and S.e.x.u.a.l preferences are private matters, and should be kept private among/by those involved. I could care less what you do, as long as it does not affect me. That goes for not having to read, or hear about it... TMI
Although some may disagree, I believe I have complete control over my emotions, I just have to remember that it's all in my head, my head, which means I tell it what to do. Some people choose to let their emotions control their life, and, since I'm such an understanding person, I can see why they prefer this particular view of life, I've recently learned that it's all about point of view on most subjects, there is never really a right or wrong only someone's view of right or wrong, just because I understand how you would think that someone is "right" doesn't mean I would agree with it, but I'm not going to attack you for it, at least, not anymore. Anyway, I have been very succesful in removing myself from the emotion of love, it wasn't that easy, but it was defintely worth it because I really didn't want to be a part of it anymore after she decided that she could go around sleeping with other guys and I wouldn't find out about it, which really made me realize that you can't get emotionally attached to someone without something like that happening, even my own father told me this, he told me that most women are just going to take advantage of all the kind things that you do for them, and there's really no point in wasting your time and money on someone who will most likely betray in the near future. I took my father's advice and decided that life would be better alone, especially after my friends said that that breaking up with her was "too harsh" and I should've "given her another chance" shortly before claiming never wanting to see my "heart-breaker" face ever again, after I strongly disagreed with them. Anyway, I believe my life has been much better without any kind of love.
Well, I guess everyone has their own view of things. I, on the other hand, have never had a girlfriend, but I would really want to have one. Unfortunately, I'm too shy to really get any contact with girls. I'm not really worried about it, though. I guess that if I meet someone who I really like, I'll probably find a way to work it out.

Well, if you really want one, it shouldn't too hard to get one if you try, but don't say I didn't warn you...because I did....technically...with the phrase "don't say i didn't warn you".

Right.
Love seems to be one of those 'games' where when you 'win', it's glorious, but when you 'lose', you lose hard. I'm no expert, though. That's just my personal view of the whole thing.
I understand it's really tough to get dumped, but I don't think I wanna skip the whole thing just because I know I can lose. What if I thought like that about everything? I can't win if I don't even try.
Before knowing anything about how it feels, I think I'd rather lose, knowing that I tried and did my best, than not trying at all.
I respect your decision, of course. All this is just my thoughts.

I fully understand loving someone for who they are, I don't understand wanting to sleep with someone of the same sex. I also don't understand Reality TV show watchers/wrestling fans/fetish (people?) so I figure its as simple as "Different strokes for different folks".

I'm in a similar situation to you then. I would like a girlfriend, I have plenty of "friends that are girls" and it would be nice to be in a good relationship with someone.
However....
The term "good relationship" is not one widely used (or heard of) in high school. Sure you get the odd couple that stand by each other but I've seen what can happen to people when they start getting together.

Is this meant to be witty, informative or deep? I doubt I can manage all three.

Just wait for Alucard...
But I'm Bi. I don't see why I can't consider both sides if I just plain like the person. Unfortunately I go to a boys school so homophobia is common place. That's why I have never admitted it outside the safety of the Internet.

evenratman said:Venger: Making love is not only a means to make children nor is it only a means to "knock your rocks off" (whatever that means) but also a way to express your love for someone else. Your perception that men and women should only have sex because it is using their respective sexual organs with their main purpose in mind is only one way to look at the act of making love, and it is actually outdated. Nowadays, making love goes deeper than simply making children; it is the ultimate expression of your love for someone else. When you look at it that way, the "natural" argument is irrelevant because sexual organs are then used not with their "natural" purpose in mind but it an entirely different way.
What then, and i ask sincerely, is the other reason for love making? I don't buy this excuse that it is the ultimate way to express your love to someone. I can see that might being the case in a marriage, but this is rarely the case. How I see it: you mean to tell me that that man stranger in a club loves that completely foreign (as in unknown) girl even though he didn't know she existed til 3 seconds ago? I think not. Obviously I must be missing the other parts. What else to love making is there?
Evenratman said: You seem to be confused about love. To say that love for your family or best friend is the same as love for your girlfriend/wife or boyfriend/husband is very odd. This is because, as I stated above, love for GF/BF can be expressed through the act of making love while in the other relationships it cannot. That means that love for your GF/BF can become much more meaningful than the love you have for your best buddy. Physical contact between individuals is so widely used today as a way of expressing love for one another, for example, making out. Do you make out with your best friend? No, because you don't have the same love with that person than you have with a GF/BF.
Exactly! This is what I was trying to say. I'll incorporate your words with mine, without distorting your meaning, okay?
Love is all the same like I have been saying all along. Your love for candy, woman, parents, friends, etc. It is all the same sort of love. There are no variances to this emotion. It is or isn't. How it is expressed on the other hand is another thing entirely and this is what i failed to state and what consequently lead to all the cornfusion. I don't make out with my male friend because I choose to express the love I have for him in a different way then I would if I had a wife. The love there, though, is all the same. Love is love, no matter how it is sliced, diced, slashed, or flattened. I wish I had an analogy to use so as to better help explain what i mean, but I am at a blank at the moment so hopefully you understand what I am trying to say.
Kalleflaxx said: And saying that love making is only for making babies is just so outdated (as I think someone said already).
Evenratman said this too. What do you mean by this? I don't understand.
Kallflaxx said: I don't want to argue and stuff, but of course there's different ways of loving someone. I love my mom, but that doesn't mean that I'm awake at night dreaming of being with her or anything.
of course you don't do that. What I mean to say, as I did above is that the difference lies in how you choose to display that love for your mother. Look at it this way. You love your father, right? Do you show your love to him in the same light as you do your mother? I for one don't. It is this way because of the relationship I have between the two of them. Different people. Same love. Different means of expression. Get it?
Kalleflaxx said: If it's like you say, people shouldn't be able to be hetero, bi, or homo, because then everyone would have the same ways of sex, and only do it to make babies. That is not true.
I don't comprehend. Could you please rephrase the statement?
Kalleflaxx said: The things you say are so... weird.
Is it a good or bad thing that I took compliment to this?

To throw this in another direction, if you look at sex in a stripped-down, purely scientific/medical light, it's actually nowhere near as appealing as most people make it out to be.

What do you mean what do I mean? In a cold scientific light stripped of all notions of romance and poetic imagery, sex is down right repulsive to most people.
Venger: I think I finally understand your view on love and I agree with it. Also, about the implications of love making, there really is no one reason for love making, and the reason for doing it varies with each individual. Like you said, for that guy who met a girl 3 seconds ago and had sex with her, love making was only a means to physical pleasure and nothing more. In such a case, we can hardly call it love making. There's also some that do it purely to have children and some that do it to express their love for one another. It's different for every individual. I just hope you didn't take my earlier comment as insulting or whatever; I was just expressing a few of my ideas.

No offense taken what so ever my good man. I thought it to be a rather enjoyable discussion. Thanks much for putting forth your ideas and hearing out mine.

Never would have guessed it repulsive to most people. I could see how it would be though.

Though I've dabbled in curiousity in the past(and that's ambiguous on purpose), I would call myself strictly heterosexual. For me, sex takes on an almost spiritual bent, one that neccesitates a union of male with female, yin with yang. I just can't see it any other way for myself, though I hold no such restrictions for anyone else.

Same here. The All-Maker made women for men, and that is how I think it to be. If that means I am heterosexual, then so be it.
