Okay, so I dug up my old DS and copy of Emerald. When I play it, I'll need to pick between Torchic, Mudkip and Treecko. Which do you think I should choose?

Treecko, Grovyle, and Sceptile are really, really fast, have moderate Sp. Atk (really the only type of moves it should use), but have terrible defense and don't get an alternate type to cover Grass's five weaknesses.
Torchic, Combusken, and Blaziken have massive Attack and Sp. Atk stats (Blaziken has the highest Sp. Atk out of all the fully evolved starters), but again, it has terrible defenses and weaknesses to Ground and Psychic, two really powerful attacking types.
Mudkip, Marshtomp, and Swampert have above average defensive stats and a really high Attack stat (the only fully evolved starter that beats it here is Blaziken), but really bad Speed and a double weakness to Grass can make it difficult to use.

So basically, you have a choice between a fragile speedster* (Treecko), a glass cannon* (Torchic), or a mighty glacier* (Mudkip). Personally, I would recommend Mudkip, and not just because I herd u liek mudkipz.

You could use a (questionably legal) emulator to play it offline.

All emulators are legal, and if you own an actual copy of the game, owning the ROM is also legal I believe.

Therefore, whether you have an authentic game or not, or whether you have possession of a Nintendo ROM for a limited amount of time, i.e. 24 hours, it is illegal to download and play a Nintendo ROM from the Internet.

Emulators are legal, BIOS dumping is legal (If you bought the console for said BIOS) and ROM dumping is legal. (Again if you bought it)
But downloading BIOS/ROMs is illegal.

Best Gameboy Colour/Advance emulator ever.
It's literally a case of downloading the ZIP and then extracting the .exe.
Use the 'Open' command to pick a rom, or your (Questionably legal) rar file containing a rom and it'll start the game.

Edit; Okay, there's a MAC version, but it should still all be the same..

Anyway, I haven't played the game for months... I'm stuck on the damn Kimono Girls. I get to Jolteon, and my team is raped. Recently, I've been training a Phanphy (Ground-type) up, so I can pwn that damn Jolteon, but it takes too damn long. Any tips?
