never as good as Morrowind, it was so easy to become the best at everything which ruined your character's initial background and build.
- I would love Bethesda to keep up their trend of increasing the map size with each game, although this time around that would mean combining more than one region into one game, which is absolutely fine with me.
- A less generic map would also be in order this time, lets face it, Cyrodiil was completely and utterly generic and unimaginative compared to the harsh wastelands and mysterious, boding woodlands (or mushroomlands) of Vvardenfell.
- Every single peice of music included on the soundtrack of the previous two games has been brilliant, keep it up!

I think that just about covers it as far as i am concerned, P.S Hi im new here.
Welcome to the forums Gentleman!
if you would like to formally introduce yourself you can do it here :)

those arent bad ideas, im not sure if i agree with the what you mentioned about the map.
it is generic, but if there was Too much detail, wouldnt there be framerate problems? its already a pretty big world, and personally im impressed with how detailed it already is.
cant hurt to push the limits i supose tho :D
and i 2nd what you said about the soundtrack. its incredible, if they mess it up next go round, grr..

also, im with Argonaza, we need Hats.
I understand that there could well be issues with the increase in map size AND map detail, but personally i just felt that Morrowind created a better mood and gave much more insight into the Dwemer culture than in Oblivion, where the culture of the locales played a much smalller part as far as i could tell. I enjoyed The Shivering Isles a lot more than vanilla Oblivion for the sole reason that it wasnt just a semi-medieval world with wizards. The Quirky-ness of the inhabitants, locations and scenery of Sheogorath's realm really gave it an edge, and personally i think that this 'difference' to normality and existing cultures is what really set Morrowind and Oblivion (to some extent, and to a greater extent in The Shivering Isles) apart from other RPG experiences.
I presume you're here about the door?

I would love to see the fighting improved to such a point that there where crazy default moves with different weapons. Like scythes and long chains with spiked balls, would have some crazy spinning death attacks.

I'm not talking about unrealistic sort of Devil May Cry Fighting, but someone skilled enough in a weapon should be able to show off a lot. 8)

Quite right. Presently only levels and damages etc. evolve, but in fact you should gain both technical and tactical abilities... very good point. :)

Also in TES 5, I would hope they exclude the Vampire thing this time around. I know they are UBER popular amongst fans, but really, if you want to either fight or be vampires, then that's a totally different kind of game, right? Aren't there vampire oriented games? & werewolves too, for that matter,....

I don't really agree on that point. If they should exclude things from other games, they shouldn't include magic, or stealth or even fighting with weapons. Because all those things exist in other games as well. I don't think they should exclude vampires, because I see no point in not including them.

But that's just my opinion.

I would like to have werewolves and vampires in TES5. The whole point of including them is that it is a different game when you become one and if there are other vampire/werewolf games out there, i'm not sure if any of them allow you to opt out and be 'human' for your whole career

you can play any existing character in a whole different perspective and as such, these curses greatly extend the longevity of the game. It's also very optional so i don't see the issue with excluding them.

not sure if having a vampiric werewolf is a good thing tho

I want to play as a were-shark.

Now before you dismiss this as a stupid post (too late) let me explain. I'm pretty sure I've seen them mentioned on the wiki. You could have a air breathing spell just like humans have water breathing. Guards would attack you in that form, and there would be hunters as well (Extreme Fishing!)

Please Bethesda, make it happen.

What you mention could be a cross breed of fish / crocodiles and Argonians. There was a recent topic "what would happen..." about various cross breeds, it's pretty dead right now; I've also understood there was a similar discussion in this topic... ages ago.

Why not work on it.

in an elder scrolls 5 the main things i would want is the return of pauldrons, it was kind of amazing how adding or subtracting them could make a character whos wearing the same armor look completely different.

also on the same vein more armor and weapon styles, keep the progression just more variety like say five different sets of leather, five different sets of iron, 5 different steel battleaxes etc, they'd all have the same stats of course just a visual difference so there's more variety.

and the last thing id like is maybe a sort of co-op mode, something like phantasy star online with simple randomized dungeon crawls with 3 friends or some such, that seems like it would be fun.

I agree with Vinja that they should include pauldrons and let you equip just one pauldron or gauntled if you wanted to, not so that both right and left is equipped at the same time automatically.

And more different kinds of armour, and more variety in weapons!

different versions of the same armour would be cool and would address pauldrons

I think the extra slots which pauldrons, shirts, gloves etc in Morrowind could make characters over powered and so that's a call for the developers to make cos they know how the game has been balanced. But appearance wise they might be able to give us steel armour (for eg) with big shoulder pads, or no shoulder pads (otherwise it's the same armour)

i really hope they've rehashed the combat animations and added an extra layer of skill to the actual process of fighting. Block was a great innovation in TES4, i never bothered with it in Morrowind but always used it in Oblivion. How the game plays is so important to which skills i choose, ie if its fun i will get the skill, no matter what character or skill it is. I went through a phase where my noodle was totally wrecked with the lock pisking skill in Ob, and for a year or two i exclusively used open spells and the skelly key lol

if they made mercantile fun to use, all my characters would be part time shop keepers

1.) One of the things to keep in minds, is for TES 5 to not break existing Lore.

2.) The other thing is to keep the game balanced.

If previous games, Lore supported, have things, then TES 5 should have it... As long as it doesn't unbalance the game.

If the Dev's listened to players, then hopefully TES 5 would be a very balanced Lore Oriented MorrowOblivion Hybrid Style Game... a Best Of Elder Scrolls.

yes, and i think thats the main reason why they choose a different location for each game, so you can have the structure of the daedric artifact missions, guilds, lore books, etc underlying it, but each new game in a new location can be almost built from the roots up and can give the TES series a new lease of life.

it took me a good while before Oblivion started to make sense when compared with morrowind, i dont mind TES5 being totally unlike TES3 and 4 so long as its up to the same high standards

what about TES5 taking place on one of the moons you see in the night sky? Perhaps there's a place there with a huge telescope and you can spy on the little khaajiti as they go about their business in Elseweyr lol

It would be interesting if the game took place in somewhere outside of Tamriel. If it was somewhere like Akavir, Bethesda wouldn't:
1. Have to embarass themselves by admitting they slipped up with The Infernal City and admit it isn't canon, or
2. Get thousands of fans across the world angry when they have to announce that it is canon.

I like the idea of at least part of it taking place on one of the moons. Could be part of the Mages Guild quest line... Mage-onauts in Dwemer spacesuits doing archaeology in ancient Ayleid moon shrines, anyone? Maybe a whole new chapter of undiscovered Lore? Ayleid's on Masser vs. Dwemer on Secunda in a magic vs. technology war for supremacy over Tamriel? Possibly finally find out why both of those races disappeared? The mind boggles!

It'd be cool too, if they re-made Morrowind instead, with better graphics and pretty much just use all the good stuff from all games.

i remember a call of cthulhu campaign where you go to the moon in one part and then off to library at celeano (which is one of the stars in the pleiades cluster)..

kind of gives you a new perspective on things.

It's very cool in a game to be put totally out of your depth
Spoiler:
There's a couple of times in Oblivion where it gets a bit like that, for example In the mythinc dawn infiltration quest where you give Harrow all your gear and (i thought) the end of the thieves guild quest when youre sneaking around in the elder scrolls library
going to another planet/moon is one of those times

Good point there, like the aesthetics, which have spikes or claws, etc should do damage? Though you could have say, spiked gauntlets but wield them as a weapon if armor weapons aren't possible.

Guards isn't a good faction to join simply because it has too many strings... What if you do something evil? Do you merely get suspended? Not for Audens Avidius. Guards are excpected to stand duty at one spot all day long... does anyone want to do that?

I also don't get the more voice actors thing. I found that nine did a fine job, along with the special ones.

Having, say, a voice for every two NPCs would cause the game to explode as well as needing Bethesda to hire 500 people.
