Barilzar's Mazed Band
I was wondering if there was a way to get Barilzar's Mazed Band with out going though all the quests. I've gotten to Mournhold though the Mage's guild, but I don't want to have to keep going to the guild everytime I need to go to Mournhold. If someone could help me, that would be great!

Re: Barilzar's Mazed Band
I use the "MultiMark" mod which allows several recall points which I can teleport to. Including Mournhold and Fort Frostmoth etc.Kumori wrote:I was wondering if there was a way to get Barilzar's Mazed Band with out going though all the quests. haha, what you told him to do, is just why i hate it on computer. I dont like Mods at all, they ruin the experoence and make things too easy and too convenient. I dont even have Mods on WoW orany pc game i own.

HerrSticks, you are partly right. If MODs made and ment to make the game easier to play, I should not download. That's is kind of cheating and I hate that with you. But, I do think MODs that make the game more fun to play (like quick travelling when you have explored EVERYTHING in earlier travels, or have to go all the way again by Strider or boat for the 90th time); MODs like this one are a wellcome add (and sorry, Pseudo, but it did'nt work...
). I downloaded ONE of all available MODs before I tried this one: I now own a nice house in Balmora, my own place to explore from (and where I put my one available recall). I don't have to USE the small, weary house of Caies when he leaves, where I have to make a mess to store the useful items I have gathered on my trips. It makes no difference in playing the game, I just got my own place to come home to. This MOD I granted myself. I am glad I did.
Maybe I should make this a new item. I am curious of other opinions in this matter.

If you have a lot of mods installed that might be why.Guest (for now) wrote: sorry Pseudo, but it did'nt work...
Perhaps contacting the author might bear some fruit.
The Elder Scroll moding scene for the most part is one of the most helpful and accomodating I've been involved with...
That said, I've gotta do some correcting on my own but now that I've got Oblivion...

guest, did you use a MOD to obtain this house? when you be come leader of a one of the houses, they give you a house. there is no need to MOD one.
Thats why i dont like "Fast Travel" in oblivion, i have never really been out in the wilderness, cuz i can just warp there..
It would be nice for multople recalls to be in the game, but they arnt,so MODing them in my mind is cheating, not cheating the game, but chaeating yourself, i have explored every inchof MorroWind, if u had used multiple recalls that would not be the case

Re: ..
As "Guest (for now)" intimated; moding is about adding enjoyment for proper gamers i.e. those that enjoy the gaming experience and wish to get more out of it. If you choose to restrict yourself to one flavour then that's up to you but just because some less enlightened players see "completion" as a target don't assume everyone else is that way inclined. Most gamers, myself inlcuded, enjoy the escapism not achieving some apparent goal of finishing Oblivion (which the developers have indicated there isn't). Imersement and the scope of the experience are what I value most.HerrSticks wrote:guest, did you use a MOD to obtain this house? when you be come leader of a one of the houses, they give you a house. there is no need to MOD one.

Just my thoughts...

Hopefully Oblivion dosent have a "Goal" in my mind MorroWind dosent. I completed the main quest, and still played for months and months.
In my mind you dont get more out of MODS you get less.
what are you asking about the Expansions?
Both of them were Great, Bloodmoon more than Tribunal i would say, but i loved both of em.
Even if becoming a warewolf is extremly hard (i have tried for months and months to become one) i dont know where, or how. It was a great island.
Mournhold is a small expansion in my mind, area wise (one City, well 2 if you count the clock work city) it is packed with high lvl quests and items. You even get to kill a "God" which was the biggest challenge in all of MorroWind i would say.

I must admit to being somewhat at a loss to understand how correctly done modding means you have less as a result but as long your happy with what you've got you'll never be disappointed!HerrSticks wrote:Hopefully Oblivion dosent have a "Goal" in my mind MorroWind dosent. To each there own!
As for the expansions I was just wondering whether you considered them mods or not?

No the Expansions are in no way "MODs" in my mind. Even if by defintion they are "modding" the original game.
Read my previous post, of what i thought about them.
It really depends on how you look at it. If you bypass all the walking and all the travel i think you do lose somthing. It really depends, if they are mods for "conveince" and not for "obtaining" then i dont have as much of a problem.
For a MOD to add somthing, in my mind it should be a dungeon or a Expansion, and you are very right, "To each thier own". What ever you like, and what ever makes you happy is the right thing to do. I dont mean to impose in any way my views of MODs on any one else.
I can accept "conveince" MODs, but "obtaining" MODs i will not even accept, if you know what i mean. "Obtaining" is just cheating.

I agree both the expansions REALLY added to the original.
Morrowind is still installed on my PC and will no doubt make a come back every now and then!

HerrSticks, I know. You build yourself a stronghold when you become the leader. Maybe I overlooked something, but all of the houses were inhabited. There was no house ment for myself, exept finally in Solstheim.
Any way, at the END of a long, long play getting a house... well, that's nice, but that means being homeless during almost the whole game, including its extensions. Getting a house when you are almost done... I figured the makers of Morrowind were not THINKING! Little mistake!
 of course I should have killed someone-alone in Balmora with a nice house to live in it myself... thàt's within the possibilities of the game, so no cheat, so no MOD needed...
Only joking... but with a touch of reality in it. One can be TOO strict in avoiding cheat. I am quite a fanatic about it, but you are worse!
