Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is pretty hard. My explanation (which covers most of the bosses, as well as one enemy that feels like a boss) contains some spoilers, plus it's pretty long, so I put it in spoiler tags.
Spoiler:
To begin with, the first boss (the Dark Alpha Splinter) can kill you in six hits. If you're playing on hard, it drops to three. On both modes, the thing takes a ton of firepower to kill (seriously, 12 charge shots? After you use your missiles?) Plus, its main attack will actually predict where you'll be when it hits, so you have to use dodging strategy you probably don't have at that point in the game (it is the first boss, after all). Part of the challenge comes from the fact that you can't get any expansions before you fight it (and no, the missile launcher doesn't count). The item you get from it has absolutely no effect on gameplay, so it's not even worth fighting. (But, of course, you have to kill it anyway.)

Next on the list of overly hard bosses is the first Dark Samus battle. The only items you've recovered by this point in the game are the missile launcher, morph ball bombs, and the space jump boots, all of which are basically useless (even the missile launcher, which Dark Samus will block). Of course, your opponent has no such limitation: it has an energy shield that reflects all attacks, a Phazon-based spread-shot beam that's almost impossible to avoid damage from short of using cover (and most of your cover will eventually be destroyed by Dark Samus), super missiles that do a ton of damage and can destroy all of the pillars you use for cover aside from the center one, and a Shinespark-based charge attack that has a similar effect on the scenery. To hurt it, you have a total of three weapons you can use (the power beam, the charged power beam, and missiles). The latter two are useless, due to it blocking your missiles and the fact that the only time you can hurt it is when it's rapidly moving around the room. Good luck hitting it with anything other than uncharged power beam shots. You get the Dark Beam for killing it here.

Amorbis, the boss of the Agon Wastes, isn't that hard, but it deserves a special mention here for having a dark laser attack that's almost unavoidable. In addition to draining your health really quickly, it also usually pushes you out of the safe zone you're fighting it from, causing Dark Aether's atmosphere to hurt you even more. But you at least get the Dark Suit for killing it, which greatly reduces the damage you take from Dark Aether's atmosphere from 5 damage per second down to one.

The actual next entry on this list is the Dark Pirate Commando, which only shows up in Torvus Bog. It's not even technically a miniboss. They're more of a miniboss disguised as a regular enemy. 90% of the time when you encounter them, they'll lock the doors, so you can't escape. They have a ton of health and armor that not even the light beam (which should, in theory, own them) can be used to effectively kill them. In reality, the only effective way to kill them is to charge the dark beam to freeze them, then finish them with a missile. This sounds really counter-intuitive (since, generally, possessed or dark-aligned creatures resist dark-based attacks) and easy, but the latter is before you realize they seem to teleport around the room at random. The only reliable way to keep track of them is to use the dark visor, which you don't get until you're done with Torvus.

But even they pale in comparison to the nightmare that is the Boost Guardian. Sure, a charged light beam shot or super missile takes off about a quarter of its health, but good luck getting in more than one hit with either before it uses its main attack. When it does, it becomes immune to damage (you can attack it, but you won't do any damage; you'll just make it stop boosting around the room). Its main attack involves it turning into a small orb that bounces across the room at about the same speed that the light beam travels (being made of light, you can probably imagine how fast that is), and avoiding it is down to pure luck. After using this attack 3-4 times, it turns into a moving puddle of dark matter (as is standard for Warrior Ing), at which point you can attack it. You're supposed to use morph ball bombs. After you hit it with about 12, it will turn solid again, at which point you can finally resume actually damaging it. And of course, Dark Aether's air is slowly draining your health all throughout the fight. Your reward is the Boost Ball, which is primarily used for exploring.

Chykka, the boss of Torvus Bog, is next on my list not for being hard, but for being really, really long. Its first form has a ton of health, plus it's immune to missiles and super missiles for whatever reason. Its attacks include shooting dark water at you (which doesn't hurt that much and is easily avoided), creating waves of dark water (which, while they do hurt quite a bit, are not very tall, and thus easily jumped over), creating Dark Shredders to attack (which, strangely enough, have less health than their non-possessed counterpart), and attempting to eat you (its tongue is unavoidable, but if you shoot it enough, it won't get to hit you). If you shoot its mouth enough when it tries to eat you, you get to attack its weak point for massive damage (using real-time weapon change if you want to do the most damage). Unfortunately, it's a huge bug rather than a giant enemy crab.

After you kill its first form, rather than dying, Chykka rapidly matures into a huge dragonfly-like bug. This time, the weak spots you can attack for massive damage are on the back of its wings, but you have to stun it first by shooting it. Destroying the weak spots on all four of its wings will reduce its health by 1/4 (1/8 if you're on hard mode). It will then fall in the dark water and turn into Dark Chykka, whose eggsac you can hit with the light beam. If you do nothing but charge the light beam against it in this form, you'll take off another 1/4 or 1/8 of its health, and then the darkness will disappear from it. You have to do this again (or three more times on hard mode) to finally kill the thing and get your dark visor.

The next boss, the Spider Guardian, is the most difficult puzzle boss you will ever fight. It's basically a dark pillbug. If you bomb it enough, a nearby bomb slot will turn on for whatever reason, and the guardian will slow down. Its aura will turn blue at the same time. If you activate the bomb slot before it turns green again, it will turn red to rush into the power conduit that will hurt it for 1/6 of its health. It doesn't sound that complex, (bomb it, then bomb something else and watch at it hurts itself) but two of the areas you fight it in feature boost ball halfpipes as your main method of moving around (good luck bombing the guardian without it hitting you) and the fourth and final area has three conduits that you have to get it to hit to finally finish the thing. You get the very over-rated spider ball for killing it.

The next difficult boss is the second Dark Samus fight. It still has the Phazon-charged Shinespark and regular Super Missile, but you can't really use cover for either, since all you really can use are two pillars near the center of the room that are about as thick as your arm cannon. No, really. In addition, it has a boost ball attack that works a lot like the Boost Guardian's, but Dark Samus's goes at a constant speed; a Phazon-charged super missile that works more like the Ice Spreader from the first Prime (it spreads a bunch of Phazon everywhere); the scatter-shot Phazon beam, and a thin Phazon-based laser (which you can only avoid by getting behind Dark Samus or using cover). It can also make itself only visible to your dark visor, which can be really annoying. And, once again, it can block your more powerful explosives, leaving it only vulnerable to your beams. You get the not-very-useful echo visor for killing it.

The last boss that's harder than it should be is Quadraxis, also the last boss of Sanctuary Fortress. You know those giant mecha parts in the Sanctuary Temple? Quadraxis is what you get when you fully assemble them, complete with a creepy looking head. It can use the homing Annihilator Beam on you (that's actually what you get when you kill it), in addition to using an ultra version of the cyclone attack that smaller Quad MBs use. Its last attack (which it usually only uses if you try to hit its feet) is to create an orange shockwave that you have to jump over, which is the single most used attack among all enemies in the game. If you destroy its feet (which like to move a lot, making it much harder than it should be), then you'll get either a gold energy (which restores a full energy tank) or ten missiles. Your main task during the first phase of the fight is to destroy the leg joints, which are only vulnerable if they flash blue.

Once you've destroyed the armor on the legs, Quadraxis will split in half: the body will stop moving and fall over, while the head will start floating around. It is no less dangerous like this; in fact, it starts out with a shield that makes it fully immune to all of your attacks. You need to use the echo visor to target an antenna on its legs (which, despite being immobilized, still do something). Destroying the antenna will cause the head to stop attacking you, but more importantly, its shield will go down. With the echo visor still on, you have to target three antennae on its head that receive the transmissions from the legs (without which, it apparently can't even keep the shield up).

After you sever the communications between Quadraxis's two parts, the head will fly around and destroy the last armor on the legs, revealing a spider ball track on each one. After you stun the head by shooting it enough, you have to use the spider ball tracks and the boost ball to get on its head and bomb two targets on either side of its head. Bombing the second target will finally kill Quadraxis, giving you a surprisingly good upgrade: the annihilator beam, which does similar damage to the light and dark beams, with the advantage that you can fire it as fast as the power beam (which will literally fire as fast as you can press A).

Aside from the bosses, the stages aren't really that difficult (except for any platforming section that involves Rezbits). It's just those bosses, which are way harder than they should be.

Yes, he's a real drummer. He can't play the game on any difficulty besides expert because the missing notes screw him up too badly. This doesn't affect him on the other instruments at all, and he did play GH before there was a Rock Band, but drums are easily his instrument, whereas (plastic) guitar is mine.

No, he's not currently playing that song for a real band -- the only two projects he's worked on recently were a classic rock/folk group with his dad and a metal group with a few of his friends. Neither would be playing Pumpkins.

Fast but simple. Cherub Rock has a complex, yet magnificent rythym.
I said that, Raven messed his quotes up.
No I didn't. You did. Please, read before posting.

Edit: messed up, apparently

Also all you people saying Run to the hills would be hard on Rock Band... take a look for De Slagwerker by Neil Peart, I could name many many more but the other ones are just silly.
