I had my first day of TVET work placement. Rather boring I must say. I'm at this place called JS image solutions. And they really have nothing for me, an inexperienced and unskilled worker to do. They just let me sit on a spare computer and lurk the forums.

My day started out bad, because I missed the bus to my new school, but then it got better and better. Right now everything is fine.

I killed a bird today. I feel awful. I mean, I've gone hunting, and though I didn't kill anything, I didn't feel anything while holding the gun. But, something about this was so weird. I mean, I shot it with my airsoft sniper to begin with, and I saw it fall out of a tree. I ran behind my house to find that it's wing was pretty damaged and I knew it wouldn't be able to live. I thought I was doing the humane thing, and I crushed it'd head with a rock. I needed to kill it quickly, so it wouldn't suffer. I made it a grave out of rocks... I don't know if it's just remorse, but something in me feels awful... I just don't know what to think right now.
...and diplomacy continues to fail. Their ears fall deaf, and their eyes fall blind, yet they are still not mute. They will not know their errors. Only what they believe themselves. But we... we shall not be silenced.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Honestly, you're kinda right to feel bad for not making a clean kill in the first place. You compensated pretty well but it's horrible to have to finish off a kill up close... usually if I don't get a kill shot I quickly cycle another shot and shoot it again. It tends to work, although if you rush you can sometimes just maim your target more without killing it, which is many many times worse...LunarSweets wrote:I killed a bird today. I feel awful. There was one guy I hunted rabbits with, who was convinced that he hadn't killed the rabbit cleanly. He couldn't have been much cleaner, a webley super-dome pellet straight into the side of its head; the rabbit couldn't have felt a thing, and it's spasms were very mild for a headshot. But the way the rabbit lay there and rag-dolled after the shot just killed him, he threw up, felt horrible and depressed, and the next day sold all his kit at an enormous loss. Some people just can't stand killing.

True that, not to mention hunting for the fun of it should be a criminal offence. You get done for not paying taxes but when you kill an animal with no intention of eating it your let off with not even a slap on the wrist, ridiculous if you ask me.Goldbrand wrote:Some people just can't stand killing.
On-topic: I just got back home from a night at my mates house, it is currently twenty-to-four in the morning though....I got kicked out of his house because him and his mum decided to have an argument while I was asleep. Now this makes me wonder what the hell they where doing up at this time anyway, some people are insane, simple as.
So anyway I had to walk past the local park which is notorious for muggings and stuff, at 3 in the bloody morning! Not happy about that at all, this is the same place I got bottled if some of you remember that post I made not long ago.
Now I'm at home I can't go back to bed, I fell asleep rather early yesterday at his house because I didn't feel to great after ordering some cheap pizza from the local

I don't think that hunting for fun / sport should be illegal, but if people're just going out and killing hoards of squirrels or robins, then, yeah. Besides, I think that that's illegal anyhow. Animals are made for us to use however we see fit . . . but just going about and offing them's not exactly the point.True that, not to mention hunting for the fun of it should be a criminal offence. Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Today I got up around 6.30, got out of the door by 7, hurried to the bakery to buy some breakfast and lunch, got to the university on time, but then our prof turned up to tell us to go home, we're not even bothering to drive to the dig today cos it's supposed to be stormy and pour buckets later.
So now I'm home, enjoying breakfast while reading the forums. I'll probably mod/play Morrowind a bit and then get some work done. Can't really complain about the day off

Lucky you. I got up at the same time, had breakfast, got dressed, drove to work, where I will be spending the rest of the day splitting my time between working and reading Homer's IliadCaz wrote:Today I got up around 6.30, got out of the door by 7, hurried to the bakery to buy some breakfast and lunch, got to the university on time, but then our prof turned up to tell us to go home, we're not even bothering to drive to the dig today cos it's supposed to be stormy and pour buckets later.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Today I bought Oblivion, the GOTY edition for my PC from Walmart while I'm here in the states because I hardly ever see it in the UK, and it was $20
So I've been brushing up on my old console commands and pc tricks; I remember most of them. I'm making an rp character of the protagonist of one of my favourite series' of books - the night angels trilogy, which is where my sig comes from. The guy's name is actually Kylar Stern (ring any bells with anyone who played the "college of the nine devines" rp?
) and he's a wetboy, wikipedia Kylar if you want to know how I'm rping him.

Coded, as in a code on the box to activate the software? there's nothing on this one, just put in both disks, one for the game the other for the SI and KOTN.Blackhawk Vegal wrote:will the disk work over their on the PC, are they coded like the video games are, for NA and Eur?
And thanks Spiney, I might end up calling in that offer

If you mean region coded (PAL and NTSC), it shouldn't matter as all newer CD/DVD roms are region free.Blackhawk Vegal wrote:will the disk work over their on the PC, are they coded like the video games are, for NA and Eur?
