That guy scared me..
I started a new game with my Imperial and decided to follow the Main Quest from the start. So I was walking to Chorrol ( don't like fast travel really..) and I came to Fort Ash. Suddenly this Khajiit marauder jumped in front of me and demanded 100 gold. I totally forgot there was a marauder there and I must admit that that scared me for real..
But, I had a good laugh after I killed him

I was genuinely frightened when Noveni Othran uttered these gruesome words:
"What have we here? Another plaything? You'll dance for me, little one, yes, you will. I'll make your corpse dance, and then tear itself apart!"

Re: That guy scared me..
I have a mod that changes the music system so that the combat music only triggers when you see (or get hit by) the enemy, not when it sees you.
I was running through an Ayleid Ruin (out of all the dungeons I find them the creepiest) I went round a corner and ran right into a zombie.
I had a mild heart attack but soon recovered. As I was inspecting its corpse after dispatching of it I had a serious heart attack when another zombie crept up behind me and clawed my head off (metaphorically speaking
) I was in first person so didn't see a thing, just heard the loud scream from my character. I'm never going in one of those again...

I actually had a mod I cannot recall at this moment that added ghosts who freakin' fly across the room screeching like banshees trying to rip your soul apart.Big- wrote:ahhh good times, ghosts scared me pretty hard for i had never heard what a cold spell sounded like i was like WTF? Ayleid ruins are so creepy, when I'm a little tired and play after dark, man, they get to me. And the serene dungeon music really complements them more than any other dungeon.Jakarius321 wrote:I have a mod that changes the music system so that the combat music only triggers when you see (or get hit by) the enemy, not when it sees you.

I used to do that but found it detracted from the immersive experience of the game, even if that meant scaring myself every 5 minutesBlackhawk Vegal wrote:I usually don't have the sound on, due to the radio or CD blaring in the backgroundJakarius321 wrote:I have a mod that changes the music system so that the combat music only triggers when you see (or get hit by) the enemy, not when it sees you.

i think the first time when i was playing, i was heading to chorrel, was running their, made a wrong turn and ended up where you find the Unicorn,
but what freaked me, is i was running thur the woods, rans thur a thick bush, and BAMMMMM ran smack into a Minotaur.

Minotaurs guard the Unicorn, overkill? I think so! If it was called Minotaur of the Glade then that was one of the Unicorn's bodyguards.Blackhawk Vegal wrote:i think the first time when i was playing, i was heading to chorrel, was running their, made a wrong turn and ended up where you find the Unicorn,

Scariest thing?
Alyeid Ruins.
Don't know what it s about them. Maybe it's the thought that, in those dark corridors, something could pop out at anytime.

Re: That guy scared me..
I think every moment is kind of scary for me in oblivion, I play with no music and no reticule (stealth has a reticule regardless of settings...) but I think the scariest moment was when I was going from the imperial city, following the path to skingrad to get to anvil, and on the way I decided to ditch the path and head straight for anvil.
I forgot what bears sounded like, so I had my volume up louder than normal and every step the bear took sounded like a dragon was crashing through the forest behind me... I didn't turn around untill I heard it roar and was like "Oh you're not a dragon, I can fight you!" ^_^
Good times...

Re: That guy scared me..
I remember i actually had to pause the game and calm down because of a rat, well 3 of them all attacking at once from behind can be scary.
The Dark elf woman who tells you about the theives guild once you're out of jail for the first time, she snuck up on me and made me jump out of my skin.
I used to find Oblivion and their gates really scary i would change my path if I could even see one, now like a lot of others according to this thread Alyeid ruins, I personally find them scary and annoying, scary because of the monster and atsomosphere and annoying because of the traps (I've lost count of the amount of times traps have killed me).

I don't really mind the baddies in Ayleid ruins, but the traps still scare me. I also used to dread Dread Zombies.

Re: That guy scared me..
The first time I played Oblivion I was randomly wandering/running around and I either got the Forlorn Watchman Quest (I think that's its name) or just found the marooned ship and walked in ('cause I'm a curious type of idiot), and was still low level without silver weapons or any worthwhile spells. Anyway, the random ghost (that actually glows as apposed to morrowind) nearly ate my soul before I managed to gain my senses enough to turn around and run like heck out of the ship and away.
Also: the zombie groaning sounds. Creepiest thing ever to me.

The scariest time was when i was running through bleak flats cave. I was walking cautiously, when i started hearing splashing sounds....splash, splash, splash, i'm going crazy, whirring around like crazy(the battle music was playing) when BAM! a zombie hit in the back
after that, was when i first saw a gloom wraith

When I first went through the tutorial in this game, and found out there were Zombies in it, I lost a lot of interest in the game.
And when I found out there was a Mage's Guild quest based on Zombies, I didn't play for months.
