it would be cool to see an expansion for the saving the royal family... maybe a mage can send you back to before the king and his sons get killed and you have to save them... action packed?

That is kind of a neat idea actually. A prequel/alternate history expansion. Anyway, that is just the kind of games the Elder Scrolls are. They aren't packed full of traditional linear suspense laden plots. Some call it boring, some call it open ended.

or you could become emperor but sience theres no more dragon fire you would have to go to every capital city and get a vote but do a task for them. and then a war of<Creatures or Somthin> invade

That means no daedra invasion and you would lose all your powers and stuff from the main quest for changing history. or he coould send you there but it is and illusion

Heres one i think you all will like

After beating the main quest a dark elf male will acome to you and talk saying

Neldam Indrano: "Wow you closed the oblivion gates. You could almost rival Neravarines Greatness"

You:neravarine?

Neldam Indrano: Yes he went to akavir and was never heard from again....

You: What did he look like

Neldam Indrano:Well he was a<Choose a race> and was a <Insert Gender>.

You how do i get there

Take a boat from anvil im sure one would take you.

Now you go to akavir and must find the neravarine but the neravarine was on a mission to kill all the akavir Leaders. :) Enjoy

I made the big mistake to finish the main quest much!! too soon. My, all the Oblivion gates closed all of a sudden. With all the loot and Sigil stones ---> down the drain!
So, I took an earlier saving and will not finish the main quest until I played every possible quest that is offered in the game. I want to enjoy the game to the fullest!
And yes, of course, expansions please! There is no doubt in my mind: there will be expensions, I am sure of it!

heh, finished the main quest once, at level 10 or so. Started from scratch, now level 13 and not touching Kvatch till I'm at least halfway through most guilds and level 20 or more :) Gotta feel the rock!

Get to level 40 and switch "unkillable essential NPCs" off in the ini file. Then try to finish the main quest :D

I'm not bored at all so far, and haven't touched the main quest yet. My main goal has been to explore the different cities and countryside, and then try to solve some of the smaller quests I come across. I guess I'm not in a hurry to finish the game since I know that like many other games, new content isn't going to happen right away, and I'm just ruining my own experience by doing so. I guess I'm trying to treat the game more like a 5 course meal as opposed to a McDonalds happy meal.

This is exactly how I feel about the game too. I haven't explored even a third of Cyrodiil yet and my first char is lvl 38. Still, it's more linear than Morrowind. I have played MW for years without even joining any of the great houses.

You are absolutely right! As I said, I made a huge mistake in wanting to solve the main quest in such an early stage! But..ehh.. I felt responsable. How silly one can be  :)
Luckely I could catch an earlier saving, MUCH earlier, and that was my punishment for hurrying things up.

What's the big deal about finishing the quest early? So what if the Oblvion gates close? After a while, Oblivion planes are boring as heck. they are basically the same pattern over and over. And frankly, at level 28 or so, I have no use for any of the sigil stones. I think I have liks six on me that I'll probably never use. I finished the main quest the other day, and I'm having just as much fun roaming around, doing side quests and plundering mines and forts.

I think my character is slowly going towards uber merchant....I did a rescue of a woman's daughter quest, and got a big +5 bonus to my merchantile as a reward. I'm now at almost 60 merchantile which is nice, since you can sell anything anywhere. It's nice to walk into a place you know you have high sell/buy rate and drop all the loot you plundered that wouldn't normally be sold there. I'm not sure the other merchantile perks are as usefull, but it should be interesting. My trader is quite fun so far...but accounting for those random +5 bonuses to skills that are major is painfull.

If you think any aspect of this game is boring, then you don't get it or you're not playing the right game genre! This is the best RPG I have ever seen (albeit, it is my first Elder Scrolls game). The open ended aspect is awesome and should provide for many long hours of enjoyment. What's boring about so many quests, so many creatures, so little time (I work, am married, have kids and go to school for a PhD degree), so many weapons and so many different ways to play the game!?

Just last night I had a blast just running away from the law. I picked a pocket and apparently was seen or felt. Instead of the reload, I decided what the heck, run. I ran from Leyawin (sp) to the main city and along the way had to deal with two guards, a wolf, a bear and a sexy wood sprite looking thing (wow). When I finally found a Doyen to fix my record, it cost me a whopping 13 gold. LOL! How can that be boring. BTW, when you have guards chasing you, they are not affect by Moonshadow?!?!

some people enjoy stories ... like myself. After all the stories are complete, which is what I have done, there is nothing left to do. Every now and then a quest comes out that is worth downloading... then I beat that and put the game away again.

The game isn't boring at all... but there are only so many times one can complete every singal quest. The repetivness is boring, not the game.

Ok get this; if youexpanded the world in Oblivion it would never get boring. Instead of impassible boarders you should be able just to travel to anywhere in the world. Visit Morrowind and close the Oblivion gates and restore order, learn new spells in High rock, fight Argonian renegades in the Black Marsh or just soak up the sun of Summerset Isle! The world would be so massive you could always find something to do, oyu could go anywhere, do anything it would be freakin AWSOME!
Only the dead have seen the end of war.

That's not true. Im thinking in terms of "Back to the Future". He goes back and his alternate self exists (but in our case our alternate self would be imprisoned?). So we could keep all of our gear during the travel.

And you would have to finish the main quest to activate this time travel quest. But you could make it more specific by only allowing you to scale the tower fighting off people and getting the king to safety (say in another capital) and from there a new game could be born ... Elder Scrolls 5. Where all of the people have come together to fight off an army of evil (people.. no demons or weird monsters this time) and protect their king and his sons. Maybe that's to much like Lord of the Rings? Who cares, it would be an amazing fight. Ive always wanted to be in this ginormus sword battle with people al around and I can choose who I want to fight. That would be sweet.

I agree oblivion gates are boring but without a main quest with no crisis you can kill about anthing Cause daedra are gone from the game and your the Hero blah blah blah!!! but theres no crisis that keeps it exiting
