Checking what mods are linked to a savegame?

Post by Enzo-259 »

Basically, I used to be completely nuts about this game... :P

...Until my comp died and I lost everything bar the backed up savegames. I didn't even get a new computer until last week(and it's not even new; it's my old one that I had before the broken one! :? )

So yeah, I thought I might as well have a shot at trying the game again. Problem is, I had a CRAPLOAD of mods to the latest savegames and since I don't want to start a new game, I was wondering if there was a way to check the save files to find which mods are linked to it.

Thanks! :D

I am not so sure, but perhaps it can be viewed in the Data Files in the main menu.
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity.
I'm not inclined to resign to maturity.
If it's alright, then you're all wrong.
But why bounce around to the same damn song?
You'd rather run when you can't crawl...

If you mean the splash screen, nothing shows up. I don't actually have any mods installed in the data folder.

Oh, I just have a vague memory that you can view your save games and see what .esm files are required. :?
So it's called the splash screen? I didn't know that. Live and learn :D

Wrye Mash allows you to make an easy copy of the list of plugins that a save game depends on:

Select the "Saves" tab, highlight the save file whose plugin load order you wish to document, go to the masters pane, in the lower right of the window, right mouse click in the column heading "File", then choose "Copy List" from the popup menu, and then you can paste it into a text file, if you want.
