Some pretty good games in that list but I need an order if you want to participateStendarr wrote:Very hard to say, not in order. I have 6 there because it's hard to choose.
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
The game is huge, complete as there is a lot of freedom for your character development and exploration. Tons of quests to do, artifacts and rare items, interesting places. The story is very good and engaging, complex, the lore is huge and among the best - probably the best - in videogaming, there's a lot of political, social and religious elements that are seen when going through all the quests as the world is very alive and immersive.
Halo: Combat Evolved
I'm a fan of the Alien movies (well the first two) and science fiction in general, and Halo is truly influenced by all these more military pieces of science fiction. The story is engaging, dumping you in a mysterious and unknown ringworld where you try to learn more about it and your foes. Long missions, huge and very well done environments with a lot of tactical choices on how to pull something off.
Final Fantasy VII
Very engaging story and characters, long game with in-depth customization of your weapons and such.
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
It's kinda hard to choose the best Splinter Cell among the first three, but this one puts everything further. It has the very cool and unique multiplayer of Pandora Tomorrow and adds an entirely new co-op campaign. Now there's different kind of objectives which some of them are not obligatory to pull off, making other missions go off differently. The level design is a lot less linear too. Great story of intrigue that uses elements introduced in both precedent Splinter Cell games, so nothing comes as entirely new or unrelated (the Masse kernels being an important element of the first Splinter Cell as Shetland being introduced in Pandora Tomorrow).
Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross
The best jrpgs of their time, both have seemingly unrelated but very tied stories that are among the most interesting of the genre. Great combat, great mood and atmosphere enhanced by some very fitting music. The characters are very likable too and the environments detailed and places you'd almost like to be.
Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2
Again, I really like science fiction stuff, and here it works on a different level than Halo. It's not pure science fiction, but unlike Star Wars for example, this is not a pseudo space opera, this is a real one instead of being fantasy taking place in space. I think there is too much emphasis put on how important the mission is, saving lives and the likes at times, but the game has a very unique and interesting setting with cool places, characters and a very interesting and complex story that is unlike anything told in science fiction videogames.
