Transfer save data from different xbox 360 profile

Hi everyone, sorry if this is a terrible question, but I have to ask it..

Is there a way to transfer a save file from one xbox 360 profile to another one on the same xbox?

The problem started years ago when we had a "family" xbox, and everyone had their own profile. Sounds cool, but now the xbox is mine since the family got a new xbox a while ago. And the profile that was tied to xbox live wasn't my original one. So I'm wondering if I can just... change the owner of the save file to the profile i would want to use. Is this possible? Thanks!

From this thread, which I found in about 2 minutes using a google search for the term "transfer save data between xbox 360 profiles":

...anyway, here's your solution:

1) Login with your Live account
2) Goto the Games tab
3) Click "Played Games"
4) Select the game you wanna copy
5) Goto "Stored Game Items"
6) Delete any game saves under the name of the live profile
7) Click on the save game of the old profile and Copy
Select Hard Drive and POW!

Please Note: It doesn't overwrite and will error if you already have a save game for that game on the profile you are on and this has only been tested on one game and that Fable 2.. But works fine, Can't guarantee you can earn acheivements on it, but i'll let you know!

There are games out there that will not let you transfer saved games nor characters between profiles, much less a new storage device.

That said, I'm happy to report that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a game that will let you transfer savegames from one machine to another. So, transferring them between profiles shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Thanks so much guys! Sorry I couldn't find it on my own, Prophet. I spent a good bit of time researching the uesp forum and anything that had to do with xbox save files, but never thought of using good old google!!

I was basically doing the same exact steps on my own, except I was signed into the profile that HAD the save file, not the one that was GETTING it... idk why my brain never thought to try the other way around, or why it mattered. Kinda silly if you ask me. seems like stealing. I'm a giver not a taker!!

The process seems a bit bss-ackwards to me too, but that's a Microsoft OS for ya! Glad I could be of help.

I know, I'm so glad I come from a big video-game-supporting family. My sister could kick anyone's butt at Call of Duty, my dad loves halo, etc. etc... And my dad bought them the new black xbox 360 elite a while ago. And I asked sooooo... what are you going to do with the old one?
