Should I level up?
Should I level up?
My characterful, a dark elf is at level 27, all of my attributes are maxed out except luck and personality. Those two are at about 80.
So is it worth to level up any more, I know items will not level after 25 or so, if I level up will creatures and enemies just keep getting stronger? If I level up I will only be able to increase my luck and my personality, neither do much good while fighting.
I know I will gain a bit more health but as I cannot level up my strength willpower or inelegance I really won't become much stronger?

Aren't there some things that still improve to at least level 30, if not 35? Certainly some of the DB reward items do.
I was in a similar position with one of my chars, but decided to keep going, I def didn't notice the game getting any harder, poss even slightly easier. Though I wouldn't bother getting Luck max'd, by the time you get to at least early 30's, you get so much treasure, you don't need it to help with that (if it even does, which seems to be in dispute), and it only helps skills that are not max'd.

The enemies seem to stay right with you in terms of difficulty, so if you're not getting any stronger, neither do they. That in itself is a reason not to stop levelling.
I have one char at level 40 and going past level 30 yielded a few new types of loot and such, so why not at least hit 30? Since you're still able to level, I'd assume that your skills are not all at 100... and I know that I can only get +1 luck per level-up because I've got no skills that touch that... so you won't hit a wall in your levelling for 20 levels yet.
Plus... your health goes up every time you level so it gets a touch easier in a way there. No, you don't get any "stronger" in terms of your strength, but you'll last longer due to more health.
In the end, it's up to you since it's your character though.

As more time goes on the game as bigger numbers are on your attributes, skills and your enemy's levels
But enemies are getting stronger with your level, not with your attributes, skills or something, but with level!
So if when you leveling your attributes gain not much points, the enemies will be stronger compared with you since you've been one level down and game will be harder, so if you dont want to get weaker compared with your enemies, you must be sure to increase your attributes more per level (4 or 5), or dont level at all

Well, he said all his stats except luck and personnality were maxed, so he won't have any problems.Mazer wrote:As more time goes on the game as bigger numbers are on your attributes, skills and your enemy's levels![]()

Well, then yes,but left attributes SUCK, so i think theres no point to level up, and if he has only 2 attributes not maxed, he isnt able to level because you need upgrade 3 attributes per level, or he still can?ShadowOfEden wrote:Well, he said all his stats except luck and personnality were maxed, so he won't have any problems.

You still can until all your major skills are maxed. And depending on what his major skills are, he can still get better. Like if he has Blade or Heavy Armor as major skill and they are not at 100 yet, raising those will make him stronger.Mazer wrote:Well, then yes,but left attributes SUCK, so i think theres no point to level up, and if he has only 2 attributes not maxed, he isnt able to level because you need upgrade 3 attributes per level, or he still can?ShadowOfEden wrote:Well, he said all his stats except luck and personnality were maxed, so he won't have any problems.

Thanks. After reading through the Wiki on leveling, I figure the best you can do is max all your attributes at level 39.ShadowOfEden wrote:You can't. Best way to have it high is to raise it at every levels from level 1.thoon30 wrote:How do you get your luck to increase more than +1 ?
I tried getting a +5/+5/+1 at level 10 -- it worked but it seems to me to distort the game. It's a shame you have to game the leveling process, but apparently if you don't you end up too weak around levels 18-20. Too bad.

I find I generally get 5/5/1 naturally. I just choose majors that I don't use much, I'm in no rush to level up.
I tend to prefer to play the game cyclically. I go through phases where I just do loads of sneaking and lock-picking to nick as much food (for potions) as I can, other times I'll just keep going bandit hunting etc.
I do buy some training, but I don't bother with manual training and I get 5/5/1 pretty easily. Endurance is the one that I always have probs with, but then I don't like to wear armour much....
I do waste quite a few skill increases as well as I go, but that's never been a prob.

Actually, I think that's the way to play -- +2/+3/+1 is probably good enough.Mazer wrote:I had +5 increasing on leveling just few times at all, mostly i increase my attributes +2/+3 per level. I'm level 41 now and only 4 my attributes are maxed out.But i'm strong enough to play easily
I finally figured out that my alchemist bard had too many heavily used skills in the seven majors. fight with blade, block a lot, make hundreds of potions with alchemy and sell them for merchantile. I went up 2 levels and nearly a third just going through Vilveren right out of the severs. That was okay because I got a lot of +5.
But the first time through I had many level ups with no bonus at all.

Yeah, like you haven't earned the bonuses from the others. I mean, you have been through the necessary training, rightMazer wrote:Yes, i don't like if you level up few levels and you gain bonuses only for first level.
I used to play Oblivion, then I took an arrow in the knee.
