Battlehorn castle. It's your own castle.

Anvil. Except I don't use half of it (my needs are basically 4-5 containers and a bed)

Re: Your Favorite House (Mods Excluded) and reasons
I love Rosethorn. The display cases (although I wonder how the contents can end up on the floor with the lids down) The master bedroom has exactly the right amount of chests I need and is a nice size to move around in. I like the servants quarters in the basement and always leave a gem at the bottom of the bed. I'll leave flowers on her bed too and fly in to a psychotic rage when I come back to see they have been tossed to the floor. No doubt when she was cavorting in bed with someone.
Rosethorn is the pinnacle of wealth. I like the simplicity of the Waterfront as well.
I've never really explored the other houses though. Something I intend on doing.

I like the look of the Bruma house (and Bruma itself) but I'm yet to own it. The Waterfront (cheap, central, useful storage/bed) has served me very well for a long time, so it'd have to be that one for the moment.
I'd love to be able to own the house in Hackdirt, Marlena Brussiner's I think, very atmospheric.

Being able to own just or all of the castles would be perfect. I bet there are all kinds of discoveries waiting to be made underneath and in the secret tunnels.

That's why I wished they would reward with a castle of your choice after completing the main quest! Lucky for me I downloaded battlehorn castle but it became annoying. Way too big to just to get to the bedroom and containers

I agree! I ended up turning the little hallway immediately to the left when you walk in into some kind of "closet." I put all my immediates in there.Nocturnal wrote:Lucky for me I downloaded battlehorn castle but it became annoying. Way too big to just to get to the bedroom and containers

Vicente's room in the Brotherhood sanctuary. Dark, well furnished and in a great location. And with your own personal army of assassins. Better than Deepscorn because it looks more like an unholy fortress, rather than a derelict chapel-cave.

Re: Your Favorite House (Mods Excluded) and reasons
I wonder why Vampires sleep on a concrete slab. I suppose after you have crossed over to the dark side a good nights sleep is no longer quite as important.
I love some of the Fighters and Mages Guild buildings especially the ones with three and 4 levels and all kinds of little rooms. If their storage wern't part of the reset mechanism in the game making then unsafe I would definitely call a guild building home. Infact I would probably spend most of my time moving.
Is there a way of making guild storage safe to use long term?

Re: Your Favorite House (Mods Excluded) and reasons
If you download the Imperial Furniture mod, you can purchase safe chests you can place where you want. I don't know if they're only compatible with houses, but I actually think you're free to place them anywhere, as objects.

Thanks for the info. Yet another reason why my life is incomplete until I buy the KOTN plug-in collection.

Nono, it's a free mod on TESNexus, not something you can buy.

Re: Your Favorite House (Mods Excluded) and reasons
Rosethorn Hall,
because not only is it huge and has display cases, but it also has a quest attached to it with a big reward.

I did enjoy that and it taught me the perils of sitting near garlic! I did it on purpose just to see if its true. I bet everyone has!

For the DLC ... Frostcrag spire... I like the wide open area of it and the massive storage space along with enchantment alters being right at your disposal.
As for the towns... I like Arborwatch, Simply because IMO Chorrol is a much better town than all the others

Frostcrag is a close second behind battlehorn. I love the vault as well. It's nice knowing you're massvie collection of gear is actually somewhere safe. Like would you really trust thousands in gear in your imperial shack really?

1. Benirus Manor in Anvil: It has by far the greatest amount of storage (chests, crates and barrels in the basement), ideal for my vast collection of loot. I call it my Loot Warehouse!
2. Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad: The most expensive house and the first one I bought. I have my Alchemy lab in the basement, and use the rest of the house as my "War Office". Downstairs for primary supplies, upstairs for storage of Sigil Stones and Soul Gems, and bedroom containers as databases of of dungeons/inhabitants and Trainer locations (each database record being the name of a self-made Potion, since you can name them anything you like).
3. Waterfront Shack: My Thieves Guild bolthole, close by the "meeting place". I can lie low until I can get my bounty paid off.
4. Cheydinhal: This will be my Dark Brotherhood base, once I get deeper into that Quest line.
As for the rest? So far, they're just places to visit occasionally when I'm in the area.

The Cheydinhal House. It's cozy (but not in that bad "Why are you living in a shed?" kind of way). It has fire (take that- stupid, cold Bruma house!). While it doesn't have as nice a backyard as Arborwatch, it has an alcove where you can stash the bodies from view before dumping them in the river after midnight.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.
