As a girl  I base my judgement about some piece of equipment on how my chars look while wearing it. As for this armor, Dark looked better on my pale-blue-skinned, red-haired Dunmer maiden, and Golden looked better on my over-tanned Redguard lass. So I like them both :D
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity.

Using a similiar qualifier, the Golden Saint armor looked better on my Nord. I imagine it would look better on most "white" characters -- Breton, Imperial, Nord, Bosmer. I can easily see how the Dark Seducer would look better on a Dunmer, and maybe also a Redguard...and probably gold on gold doesn't work well for an Altmer, nor gold on green for an orc. If you're Khajiit or Argonian, heck if I know.

And if your character is a dude, why are you wearing armor that was clearly designed for female bodies, and also to be slightly risque?

The Mazken armor is a definite no-no on a character with the Nord-like complexion, that I found out. It's not the fact that they're wearing black, it's the fact that they're not wearing enough black— there's just too many "holes" in that suit, which allows the Nord character's skin to blaze on through in a splotchy pattern.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

it's because it's cool and yes i'm playing a blue argornian and i'm not at that quest yet but i think it'll look cool but i have to admit the dark helmit is cooler and yes its a male argornian :Twisted Evil:

Well, in the case of male characters, I never even consider using the armour, as it looks ridiculous. I currently have one female character, an Imperial, and have used both an Argonian and Nord female in the past. The Dark Seducer armour would look disgusting on my Imperial, and would also be a bit too flashy to suit her story. I am planning on using the Golden Saint armour for her front line heroic armour, and the Crimson Scar raiment for her assasin light armour. Of course, that won't happen until level 30, which is a long, long way away...

I have a female Imperial character as well and, while the Dark Seducer armor is horrible on her, the Golden Saint armor is a bit flashy as well (it does go with her complexion, I'll admit).

I reconcile its appearance to the personality of this character by thinking it's her Halloween (or whatever is the Tamrielic equivalent) outfit she'd used to infiltrate a costume ball or the like.

If I had known choosing to overtake Dementia would land me with the Aureal armour, I would've chosen otherwise; it's heavy, and that's why I would've preferred the Mazken one. And on a dunmer you'd look pretty much like a Mazken too. (Maybe I should train Heavy in it, now that my Light is 100)

The first time I ever played SI, I assumed that being the Duke of Mania would land you with Saint armour, and vice versa. I then had to use my strictly no stealth character to complete the Ritual of Mania, and got the Seducer armour, much to my dismay.
Ironically, for the next character I completed SI with, a stealth-based light armour user, I had to do the Ritual of Dementia to get that last achievement, and ended up with a set of Saint armour I could barely move in.
It's always annoyed me that you can only have the set for the opposite house. I think you should recieve the other set when you take over the related house.

The dark quiver is my favourite, though, it looks like a fish and is very neat.
