Lost my familiar

Post by Petrus »

I had a Flame Atronach Familiar following me around from my Frostcrag altar. I must have left her parked somewhere - I really don't remember doing that, though. Anyway, I tried summoning one at the altar yesterday, and I got a message saying I can only have one familiar at a time. How the heck am I supposed to find her???

Would a PlaceAtPC command fix this for the PC users?

If you fast travel somewhere - does it follow?

It's supposed to. Apparently this time it didn't. But it's been like two weeks ago, so I totally forget where she is.

There might be a range you have to be within for things to fast travel with you. I've had this problem before with my horse and I've dismounted.

New mod spell anyone? Summon familiars? Is there a way of getting a list of pets tied to the PC and relocating them to the PC?

There are several mods that offer both animal and humanoid companions.
I have chosen Levy's creature companion mod. It works fine.

It's a well known fact that Flame Atronachs are asexual.

still, they have breasts ;)

Uh... I think where Daedric Lava Whiskey comes from...
There once was a Prince named Mehrunes
Whose buttocks sounded sonorous tunes
‘Twas an odiferous song
People sang before long
They had enough of his full crescent moons.

I don't know about that. They certainly look female enough ... chest and butt ... quite the hotties too :).

Poor Petrus had his inquisitive post turn into a testosterone fueled examination of varying pixelated monsters. And seemingly without getting his problem solved.

I keep hoping that when someone provides a good answer, I will find out how to obtain a familiar. :P It's probably in some quest.

I don't believe it is possible to obtain a familiar in Oblivion through traditional means. Rather, when someone has a "pet" following them it is usually a glitch or just them using a companion from a quest to do other things.

There are however mods that can provide you with a familiar of sorts. One of them is listed in an earlier post in this thread.

Long-term "command creature" spells. All horses are level 1 so "command creature up to level 2" works on them, cheap for a very long time.
