Ways to totally break the game.
Let's make this a community contribution topic: how do you make the game difficulty trivial?
1) All the deliciously absurd stuff you can make with an Ebony Scimitar or Staff, Fortify Resto +100 and Fortify Enchant +800 (you'll need the Mantle of Woe if your int multiplier is 1 or 1.5). Hey guys, look at my Sword of Everything in a 50 Feet Radius Dies. You have Reflect? That's okay, my other sword gives me Sanctuary 100, Reflect 100 and restores HP with each strike.
2) I'd like to say the Royal Signet Ring, but if you can survive the throne room fight you've probably broken the game already.
3) The Mudcrab Merchant. Remember how it always was a [&@%!] to have enough money to train your skills? Welp not anymore, because apparently nobody cares if you murder a guard, insofar as he was trying to kill you.
4) The Boots of Blinding Speed. I have never, not once, worn any other pair of boots. An Archer or Mage with these boots is nigh unkillable.
5) Summon Golden Saint. And I thought I'd actually have to work for my Constant Effect enchantments.
6) Azura's star. See above.
7) The Mantle of Woe. I mentioned it above, but this item is required for other game-breaking maneuvers to be performed.
Anything else?

Re: Ways to totally break the game.
Awesome thread.
And what exactly do you mean by 'break the game?' Are we talking ways to make the game seem trivial by how freaking powerful you are? If so, read the 'Wanna be as powerful as a god?' thread that I started. It explains everything

Re: Ways to totally break the game.
Seems people are coming up short, so let's lower the bar a little. How about stuff that makes the game much easier than it should be?
8) The free daedric weapon you receive in return for "rediscovering" a mine that is a few steps off the beaten path just south of one of the bigger towns in Morrowind. I simply can not suspend my disbelief at this quest. You're telling me that, when the Daedroth incident happened, every soul who knew about the mine went on to destroy every recorded trace of it before totally forgetting everything about the mine? And then no one ventured a few yards off the path to a large trading hub to rediscover it? I would've believed it if it were somewhere in Red Mountain close to Dagoth Ur, but damn, this is ridiculous.
9) Invisibility. Just get the simple Hide spell, move to Ghostgate, and lift a whole set of Glass armor in front of its owner! While you're at it, there's some Ebony stuff you can lift at the Tower of Dawn. Might as well go the whole nine yards, right?
10) That Ajira Quest where Galbedir moves away from her unguarded desk, leaving hundreds of thousands worth of gems ripe for the pickin. Sure, Creeper probably won't give you more than a dozen thousand septims for them, but remember you're theoretically level 1-5 when this happens.

don't wait for Ajira to do your dirty work, these things can be stolen whilst standing behind the pillar with Galbedir standing next to them
if you have the stones

Re: Ways to totally break the game.
Actually no. I think tossing the game at the wall in dire frustration is more fun though. And btw, this is still on topic as we are talking about 'breaking' the game. Albeit, not in the fashion the author of this post intended, but nonetheless, we are breaking the game.

Re: Ways to totally break the game.
I have a list of the absolute 110% best items you can get in the game, if anyone's interested... (only one item on the list is in the GOTY, and if you don't have it, I have the next best thing)
The difference between a villain and a super-villain is presentation.

Although I'm actually presently trying to make the game more difficult you have my attention. I too want that list.

Re: Ways to totally break the game.
Dragonbone Cuirass – Found within the Mudan Grotto (southwest of Ebonheart), Central Vault, in a locked Dwemer closet
Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw – Visit the shrine of Malacathe located in the Sheogorad region on the long island west of Dagon Fel (right next to the Snactus Shrine island) to receive the start of the quest for the helm. See Malacath’s Quest for more information
Daedric Pauldrons – Kill Dyvinath Fyr
Daedric Greaves – given by Therana for Auriel’s Bow Quest
Ten Pace Boots – They are found in a locked chest in the Inner Shrine section of Bal Fell (on an island far south-east of Vivec), in front of the statue to Sheogorath
Fists of Randagulf – found in Ilunibi (north-west from Gnaar Mok), Soul’s Rattle section, behind the trough on the western side of the large room to the north-east (next to the Sixth House bells)
Eleidon’s Ward – Found in Ibar-Dad (along the coast east of Khuul), hanging above the skeleton in the innermost crypt
Trueflame – Received by completeing the Blade of Nerevar quest in Mournhold
Royal Signet Ring - obtained by killing King Helseth after the Tribunal main quest
If anyone has anything else they want to add, I'll post this in a new thread. This list is for people who are good at heavy armor and long blade.
