why cant i enchant clothing/armour with +attribute or skill?

Post by garoldini »

I am at level 10, and have just completed the mages guild quests. When using the alter of enchantment, I am not given the option of enchanting clothing or armour with +attribute or skill.

Does it have to do with my level?

no it doesnt. if you want to have (lets say) night eye on a shoe. you have to have a night eye spell in your list. be sure you can cast that spell or you cant echant it.
Guard: Taste my sword!!!
Bandit: Hmm. Tastes like chocolat, is that right?
Guard: Unbelievable! How did you do that?:|

At altar of enchanting you can only add effect to item if you have one in your spells or in your attribute affects (as high-elf's weakness to magic and so on)
I mean if you want to add for example resist frost, you must be able to cast it as a spell or have it in your character attribute effects

I didn't realize this applied to enchanting as well as to spell making. So I need to have an attribute increased in my active effects in order to have the option of enchanting an item with increased attribute.

I read through the other topics on enchanting and this wasn't specifically mentioned, sorry for the repeat thread.

thanks

No, you just have to have to be able to cast a spell which contains the effect you want to use.

Best way to get attribute or skill increase spells with a low restoration or low max magicka is the doom stones. Greater powers count in the effects that you can apply, so use advantage of it.
