I had what felt like over nine thousand mocks today. I don't mind exams in themselves, but the preparation is so much it just doesn't feel worth it. Russian writing, Latin verse and Latin culture are all very well, but why do I have a time limit? When else in my life will I need to describe the equipment of a retiarius in two minutes? And I definitely wasn't planning on describing why it is better to live in a town in Russian.

Exams just aren't worth it. I get the idea, but the execution is poor. I know this sounds like a Lib Dem policy, but they could stand a bit of a shuffle.

Incidentally, after having watched the election debates, I think it might be worth investing in a t-shirt saying 'I agree with Nick'. I hear his son's name is Miguel Clegg. Poor kid.

Wrote an exam today. One question was the exact one that I'd spent all week studying, so yay! Now there are only three left, and I have the rest of the day off to do whatever I want (so I'm going to play KOTOR 2). I'll also spend te rest of the day compulsively checking my inbox and cellphone since I'm supposed to be getting feedback on one of my interviews today.

16:43 Spent rest of day compulsively checking email. Played some KOTOR 2, but got bored. Same with Morrowind. So I cleaned my room. Then I started checking email again, and applied for three more jobs. Had a sandwich for lunch (cheese and tomato), which was nice.

The receptionist at work today said she was going to vote for 'the yellow one', meaning Nick Clegg of course, but someone else said "What, Chairman Mao?". I LOL'd.

I tend to agree with that.

Have yet another interview today, at 10:00. I hate interviews. I mean, everybody's first question is "So tell me about yourself", and then "Why do you want this job?". The first question they don't really want an answer to. They just want you to tell them stuff that don't make you sound like a nutcase. To the second, they already know the answer. Nobody applies for the job of "junior admin assistant" or "receptionist/data capturer" because it's their heart's desire to do filing and answer phones. So in the first five minutes, you're forced to sort of lie (and I still have to find the correct answers to both those questions). And then half of them ask about things you do in your spare time. Then when you tell them, they tell you to just remember there won't be time for any of that at work. Really? And here I was thinking somebody would employ me because I'm so good at efficient leveling on Oblivion. Or that I'd get to be phoning mny friends all day. [/rant]

My bed - in my student home, fairly old by now - finally decided to come apart this morning. So I took the rest apart too and moved it down to the cellar. May it rest in pieces*.

Now I'm sleeping on my mattress on the floor until I get a new one. If I decide I want one. I may just stick with this solution... it's probably better for my back.

*Forgive me for that one. I had to.

I obviously can't help with the one question, but as for "Why do you want a job?" I just told the guy doing my interview something along the lines of "Because I like money, and I have bills." He continued on and I ended up being hired after being interviewed by two more people that day.

In other news, still busy packing and whatnot (hence my general absence from the forum). My routine is basically wake up, go spend the day where all my belongings are stored, pack some stuff, clean some stuff, then spend a few hours with my precious PS3, then come back here, get online for maybe an hour doing various things I have to/want to do, then going to bed again. I usually fit one meal in there somewhere. Hopefully between now and next Thursday they'll be done renovating and we can move some food and a mattress over and stop sleeping at a friend's house. That's the same friend who introduced me to this Oblivion, in case you're curious.

I've tried the truth, which is "Because I need to move out of my parents' house and I can't find a job in my field of study" but I might as well give your answer once as well, the worst that'll happen is I won't get phoned back... again. Also, good luck with the move, it sounds pretty hectic.

Today there'll be tea and cake for my mom's birthday (it's only on Sunday but she always invites her friends in the week), and then I'm going to cook a really good meal for my bf, I spent all day yesterday looking for recipes, and came up with the following: starter - caramelised onion, tomato and feta tartlets; main - mozzarella-stuffed chicken breast wrapped in parma ham, mash, stir-fried cabbage and roasted cherry tomatoes; dessert - chocolate fondant with ice cream.

Got my phone taken up in second block. Someone's phone vibrated and they didn't have the balls to man up and take the blame for it, so my teacher was going to take everyone's up. Good old me, being the nice guy I am, gave Mr. Walton my phone. All of two people said thanks. :(
And on the eighth day, God created Thermodynamics, and it was good.

Those scary ISP dudes cut my internet for a few days.
I'm not making them tea anymore.

I spent lots more time lurking around town with friends, and I got my hair cut.
And I know there's something I wanted to mention when I got back on, but I seriously can't remember it..

I spent today lying in the mud at Bisley rifle shooting ground with a crazy Russian and a few sociopathic sixth-formers. About the only thing to come out of the trip was the brass 7.62 shell I discovered in my pocket. I didn't even get a high score, since we were shooting new rifles at 600 yards.

It wasn't pain, it was the lack thereof (or any feeling at all). I'm fine with needles though, I just relax and it's no problem.

Today I had a bit of luck, I was up at the fortress across town and met a friend from university giving a guided tour. He let me and my friend tag along for free and we got to see some otherwise locked parts of the place, like the battlements and a room with well that turned out to be 100m deep. It was kinda cool. :D

I had a soccer game today and one of the guys on the opposing team had really straight long hair (shoulder length or more) and glasses. He had taken a shot and our keeper had grabbed it. As soon as that happened he drop down and started doing push-ups. I shouted, "What the heck is John Lennon doing?!", and his teammate responded, "We're disciplined! We do push-ups on the field!", I yelled back, "That's not discipline, that's stupidity!". Needless to say, they weren't too happy with me after that. BTW, the kid looked like exactly like John Lennon. Hair and everything.

I went to my Military Ball for ROTC. It was pretty fun. But all the seniors had to drink this concoction called "The Grog", which is supposed to be the most foul tasting thing ever created without being lethal. The person who poured me my cup when we went to drink it poured me half a glass, but little did I know everyone else drinking it had only a few sips worth. After consuming the disgusting drink, and nearly puking doing so, I ate to small packets of spreadable butter to get the taste out of my mouth and throat. Forever, shall that drink haunt my senses.

Later I went to a pool party and met some cool people. It was fun. Then I came home. :D

It rocked so HARD.

Hit-Girl's character is the best in my opinion...
