I'm trying unsucessfully to install the mods suggested at "http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Must_Have_Mods" but am puzzled by the need to change the creation date to a later date in order for the mods to work. I confess I am not quite that savy a user, but I am at a loss. When I select the files in question and open up the properties menu it indicates that the creation date is past that of the 1.4 beta release.
If anyone would be kind enough to help me I would really appreciate it.
Thank You
creation date conflict question
Re: creation date conflict question
Then you have nothing to worry about. Likely only people who installed the mods before the patch must worry.nick0o wrote: When I select the files in question and open up the properties menu it indicates that the creation date is past that of the 1.4 beta release.
There once was a Prince named Mehrunes
Whose buttocks sounded sonorous tunes
‘Twas an odiferous song
People sang before long
They had enough of his full crescent moons.

The following mods don't seem to be working:
Landscape LOD Textures
Landscape LOD Textures (border regions)
LOD Normal Map Fix
Cyrodiil Terrain Color Map
With these mods it isn't a question of bsa or esp files. Nonetheless, the files are copied into the correct folders, but I see the same black and white map and don't notice a difference in the clarity on the environmental background.
I'm at quite a loss, I've gotten all sorts of other mods to run just fine. It is just these mods which don't seem to work.

The wiki here says you need to change the creation date. I opened the files in question using IrfanView, and can view the files but can't change the dates. I guess what we need to know is, what program can we use to change the date? Maybe the Construction Set? I think I'll try that next...
Nope, that didn't help.

Ok, I fixed mine, and here is how I did it:
Go here to download the Directx SDK http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... layLang=en
Install it. Then double-click on the files in the mod. They opened for me with the new downloaded program. Then click "save" and it changed my dates. I started Oblivion, looked at the map, and it is back to the colorized version.
I don't know if this will work for you, or if it is an overkill method of doing the fix, but no one else volunteered a fix, so here it is!

It may be easier to just use the Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM):linda wrote:Ok, I fixed mine, and here is how I did it:
