I'm sitting backstage at our 3 o'clock matinee performance of WSS. Listening to America going on onstage, actually.

Out of my momentary depression, happy that I got a new cd. The Sleep Design aka the band TDW said he liked in the unheard of bands thread. It was also autographed.

I have just come back from the movies. At long last, I saw How to Train Your Dragon. Although I can't say I am absolutely stunned, I really enjoyed watching it and left the cinema with positive impressions

I once made the mistake of telling my dad I'd help him lay a new patio. After I spent the next few days with cancerous gangrene of the ebola I realised that gardening probably isn't for me either.

I done that a couple of years ago, today I'm helping to make a "rockery". (It must be derived from something French, because it looks like an effing pile of rocks to me)
Highlight of the day so far; Carrying bigass rocks into the backyard.
Only because it didn't involve me on my knees hammering things to the fence to stop rocks falling through.

You guys are lucky with gardening. I'm spending this weekend printing and re-printing my GCSE coursework. I've been sat at my desk since 9 yesterday morning, only moving for meals.
I want outside!

Best Sunday ever. I slept late, had breakfast in bed, didn't get up until lunch (which was pizza), watched some TV, had a nap and went to a movie.

Had a photoshoot with the family due to mother thinking it would be "nice", and to be honest i did enjoy it
Not something im used to though.
Otherwise im doing work and feeling bad; im not in a very good mood at the moment to be honest as i have exams soon and i dont cope with stress and not having done work for about 3 weeks due to illness, im what you could call stressed. Ah well i borrowed sims 2 of my girl friend today so at least i have something to play

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I just got back from the most pointless gig we've played to date.
Our friend, acclaimed Brighton-based singer-songwriter Danni Nicholls (CLANG! That's the sound of a name being dropped) hosts a night called Americana Unplugged, where the second part of the name is taken literally, namely that there's no sound system and the bands just set up in one corner of the pub and play. She's in America at the moment so we were covering for her and doing the opening set. For a start, we encountered an immediate problem in that we couldn't get everyone's attention with volume, so there were about 5 people watching us, one of whom was the singer's boyfriend anyway. I also made a complete Horlicks of one of the songs but that's to be expected since I'm much better at after-gig parties than anything as trivial as being able to play the songs properly.
Then, the other band who were meant to be playing just didn't show up and Danni didn't leave us a contact number or anything so we couldn't find out why. We had to just get out of there before we were forced to play another set, since it would end up being exactly the same as the one we'd just played anyway.
Still, a few pints on the house can't be scoffed at and I got a lift home, so the £1.80 bus fare into town makes it the cheapest gig I've done to date.

Your avatar is a polar bear...
That seems wrong. Like you've broken one of the basic laws of physics. I'm tempted to change it back myself.
So today.. PUPPY!!
First I should share some back story. I'm living with a nice woman who's letting my wife and I use her extra bedroom and living room (yes, extra living room) until we can get back on our own. She did this because basically my wife's family abandoned her because she married me (I'm special) and her landlord (friend of her father's) kicked us out of our place because I um.. lived there, and we got married, and apparently that's a bad influence on children.. yeah, I don't get it, so don't think about it too much.
Anyway, Melinda has two dogs:
Chachi a.. small curly dog, and Marly, a golden retriever, both inside dogs. They're both sweet and great and all that. They do fight sometimes, and occasionally I hear them going at it and I get worried because frankly, Marly could swallow Chachi whole. So, I was sleeping this afternoon and I was woken by the sounds of Melinda yelling "Bad dog!" and of Marly and Chachi growling and barking at each other. I ignored it at first, but Melinda was sounding kind of frantic and I got a bit afraid Marly had hurt little Chachi. So, I went into the living room to check it out and there were Marly and Chachi around Melinda's feet, trying their best to get to the tiny little black lab puppy in her lap.
I sort of froze because, well Melinda doesn't have a black lab puppy. I wasn't sure what to say, but luckily she explained. She'd been on her computer and suddenly heard the most god-awful noise outside. She went to investigate and both dogs sort of attacked her car after they ran out of the house. She went over and the puppy was hidden up under the car. She got her out and brought her in and a few minutes later the first paragraph happened. Or second, rather.
So, I think she's my puppy now. Melinda handed her off to me and Melinda remarked that where she'd been shivering and scared before, the moment I had her she calmed down and stopped shivering and even started to relax. She was starving and scarfed down two full bowls of food as soon as she came in. She's been practically attached at my hip since I woke up. Marly keeps trying to mate with her even though she's MAYBE five months old. Pedo..
And now, I think I'ma kill some badguys in SWAT 4 with my puppy sleeping on my feet.

She's giving away the puppy now, randomly. Earlier we were talking about me keeping her, then I walk in and she's calling people to come get her.

Why don't you just say 'why can't I keep her like you said'? It's not like anyone else is going to be any better.Cactus wrote:She's giving away the puppy now, randomly. Earlier we were talking about me keeping her, then I walk in and she's calling people to come get her.
Damn, I'd hate for anyone to take away my dog. In fact, I might just start a dog thread. But not now.
