Probably the crap about "breaking the norm","being a rebel" and "being your own person" and stuff like that
I'm not arrogant. I'm insecure.

I think Dogmantra's still got that... thing... inside him and The King is still bleeding profusely. It was a nasty episode.Hunter22 wrote:Not again last time; i still havent got over my broken toe...Oh no....R's going to argue about music..
Good one. I really hate Nickelback, I don't know if I've ever mentioned that?invictus84 wrote:Go wash your mouth out, young man! Such language... Sorry r. I couldn't help myself.
Edit - On-topic posts?
Genres of music always seem to develop to extremes. Punk started out as The Ramones playing pop songs at a faster-than-usual tempo and has evolved into men in tattoos using the F and C words a lot. Prog rock used to just be about sounds people hadn't heard before, but by 1975 you couldn't sell an album unless it was called Topographic Oceans and had a 43-page gatefold sleeve. The same happened to hip-hop turning into gangsta rap, and yes, metal turning into death. Cannibal Corpse are a far cry from the likes of early Sabbath and Deep Purple, aren't they?Hunter22 wrote: And on topic, how do you think death metal came about? Was it just extreme anger? Or did some one in a standard metal group have a really bad sore throat?

It was quite an extreme change though... while metal was evolving into it's glam metal stage it was getting heavier too. Where in the 80's Motley Crue may have been really popular This was also happening.r wrote: Genres of music always seem to develop to extremes. Re: Death Metal
I properly find the evolution of music interesting...
It takes one band too do something in a certain way and everyone is trying too copy, i mean just watch any music channel around these days and the large majority of songs are very similar.
Infact genres like dance and R&B do seem too strive off this urge too sound exactly the same as the next band.
I personally wont listen to death metal, ill listen too metal and heavy; usually when im in a bad mood. But all in all i dont see death ever hitting the popular rounds due to its non radio friendly material. And like any music there is an art form there and a certain skill. Just one i dont prefere. This is why i think people should not be ridiculed for the music they listen too, even if i do fricking hate R&B with my whole heart.
