Err... wouldn't happen to be Mathieu Bellamont, would it?!

Edit: I guess you could also be refering to the player. Because of your actions in the later part of the Dark Brotherhood questline (when Mathieu Bellamont switches your dead drops), they end up lynching Lucien Lachance, thinking he's the traitor. Although, Mathieu Bellamont still comes to mind first.
You're right. (Mathieu Bellamont is the answer by the way, but you still guessed it so,)
Vum wrote:It's the player, because after completing the Dead Drops, the Black Hand believes that Lucien made you do it. It could be Mathieu Bellemont also, him hating Lucien and all. I also have reason to believe that it is the remainder of the Black Hand after the player kills them.

But I'll go with my first guess, seeing as I like it the most.
Sorry, invictus got it first Vum

Guess I'll give it a shot. I'm sure this'll be easy. :P

My nose high in the air,
My ego bigger than the largest of Nords.
I may be nobility,
But there's nothing noble about me.

I often provoke others,
As the townsfolk will undoubtably note.
I've also a strange taste in pets,
As you'll see in my basement.

Who am I?

Alrighty, here goes.

I rule a city, anonymously so.
Never show my face outside, in sun nor snow.
Few know my secret, though the disease is not rare.
Only to the court, the secret will be shared.

The count of Skingrad. I forget his name, though.
To the wiki!
Edit: Aha, Janus Hassildor

Janus Hassildor, count of Skingrad. Also a vampire. And he is a BAMF in hand to hand, as shown in the mages guild quests.

I met my end questing for the crown to a collection, though scattered.
Those virtues I failed to uphold in life, I uphold in death.
I thought I had failed, but I was redeemed by Bendu.
I lied in wait, and though I was victorious against many,
They, through their demise, failed me.

Should be easy enough.

Because of the crown and collection references, I want to say Umbacano. But, somehow that answer feels off. :?:

Edit: I like the Bendu reference, too. I'm guessing, in this case, you're refering to the player (as Bendu Olo is the default name for new characters in the CS).

Ok, here's another stab in the dark... Mannimarco.

First line: His "crown" could be the title "King of Worms". The "collection" sounds like a reference to part of his speech.

Second line: As he didn't destroy the Mages guild while actually alive, he takes another crack at it as a Lich.

Third line: ... You've got me there.

Fourth line: Sounds, again, like a reference to part of his speech. And the "victorious against many" could refer to the battle he was in involving Galerion, where it's said he breathed death, killing a thousand men (including Galerion).

Fifth line: ... You've lost me again, there. I guess you could be refering to those in the Necromancers cult that obviously died before him, during earlier battles.

*cough* No, you already answered it, as that whole paragraph was a link. :P And, reading the article, I can see why he'd make sense. I completely forgot about the whole KotN questline. *DOH!*

Also, I dunno, I think I was the only one trying previous to you. :P If you're answer isn't right, I'll be surprised. (I can actually see all lines of the poem in regards to who your link leads to.)

Yup, good call. But azuarc got it :D
I met my end questing for the crown to a collection, though scattered.
Sir Amiel's skeletal remains, along with a journal detailing his failure, can be found in the same room as the Helm of the Crusader, the "crown" of the Crusader's Relics, which are scattered around Cyrodiil in various chapels and dungeons.
Those virtues I failed to uphold in life, I uphold in death.
Almost a direct quote from the ghost of Sir Amiel. Though he failed to defend the relics when he was alive, he and the other knights defend them as spirits.
I thought I had failed, but I was redeemed by Bendu.
At his time of death, the order had ceased to exist, and the Crusader's Relics were scattered. However, the player character (Bendu Olo, by default, according to the CS) revives the order and collects all the relics.
I lied in wait, and though I was victorious against many,
His spirit waited in the KotN chapel, guarding the relic, for a champion to challenge them for the right to take up their quest. They defeat every challenger for 300 years.
They, through their demise, failed me.
Although Sir Amiel and the other knights were victorious, the fallen challengers had each failed them in the sense that none were strong enough to quest for the Relics, until the PC.

Funny, when *I* give a riddle, and put information in the form of a link, nobody notices. When it's somebody else's riddle and I put a link in my post, everybody sees it.

I don't have time to write a riddle at this exact second, so either the thread's gonna have to wait a couple hours, or somebody (invictus or vum) can write one.

I'll take it.

I stand tall, in the heart of the land,
Overlooking the snow, overlooking the sand.
Surrounded by creatures ever so small,
Glistening white, I still stand tall.
What am I?

I should have called no tagbacks. This shouldn't be too hard.
I spy, with my little eye,
What everyone sees about your guy.
I'm kind of like Big Brother that way.
I keep tabs on you through night and day.
If they see you, I'm sure to know,
So do take care if you see the glow.
But if there's no one there to find,
You're perfectly safe, as I've gone blind.

The glow makes me think of a Will o' The Wisp, but the rest doesn't really fit with my idea.
