I still prefer Australasia to anything. Drought is my favourite heavy(ish- I know there's heavier, but I'm not into the groany sounds of heavier metal) song ever. :P
What We All Come To Need is awesome though, they're definitely not slowing down..
r wrote:Which is odd really, because none of the other well-known post-rock bands really sound anything like them. Godspeed are pitched somewhere between ambient and Spaghetti Western music and ASMZ are just folk music gone mad.
Depends, I think some people just dont have ears, or something, because they think that all instrumental music sounds the same..
Edit: Oh, and I always considered ASMZ a lil weird, not bad, but weird. Unpolished sounding lyrics are probably the main reason.

Red Sparowes - A Swarm

Slow'n'blues-ey. Great for 5am. >_>

Disturbed - A Welcome Burden

Gather your psychotic masses and bring them to me. To a world devoid of sanity; another time and another place. And then the violent ones crave calamity... Rip away her disguise and you will realize that you find; the truth is sickening. We don't need to change that, really... I kind of like it ugly.

*cough* I'm getting carried away again. I can't help it, Disturbed is my #1 favorite band. :P

The chorus is very catchy, I love it!

"Farewell", by Apocalyptica, on their self-titled debut album (that is, if you ignore the four other studio albums they've made in the nine years prior to this one).

What is the farewell inspired by the piece? Is it the death of a lover; or just the death of a love? A goodbye illuminated by the hope of a return; or is it a last long look back as solemn grip of eternity pulls you away?

It could be all of them, or it is none of the above. And it would still be the truth.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Strangelove - Depeche Mode.

My iTunes genius just recommended something called 'Evanescence'. Are they any good?

No.

Whether you take heed of that is down to how much you trust my judgement.

What music were you listening to that made Genius think you might want to listen to Evanescence as well?

Probably the Lacuna Coil in his library. They're both lumped into the "Gothic Metal" genre, more often than not. If you like Lacuna Coil, you *might* like Evanescence. Maybe. They've got their similarities, but aren't quite the same.

But, that's musical genres for you. If it's got any similarities, we'll just lump 'em together. Forget the differences, that's irrelevant! </sarcasm>

[EDIT]: Actually, I'm surprised you haven't heard of Evanescence. Radio stations and music TV channels everywhere used to wear their singles and videos the hell out. They're not bad, just easy to get tired of.

Yes, they're fairly good. Rather darkish music, but still good. I enjoy "Bring Me To Life" for the beat more than the lyrics, but the whole thing's pretty awesome

Listening to it right now actually.

Try Little Brother. :P
Dunno why, but I really like this song..
I mostly like singing along with the "Pride of my countrymennn," and I love the clapping that comes after it.
