Patch213 with freeware daggerfall [SOLVED]

Must be something simple, but how do you install patch213 with the free version of daggerfall? It asks a couple of questions and then asks for the CD. No where in the install instructions does it mention the patch asking for the CD. Nobody else seems to have asked about this before =/

99.9% sure, unless the last part of the patch doesn't need to be done, but only half patching the game seems a bit dodgy to me. it says to insert cd and press any key when ready, when I press a key it just asks it again, and again, and again... (you get the idea I'm sure)

Sadly I've never played it (been meaning to, never got around to it) and I'm not sure if anyone around here has.

Nobody around here's played Daggerfall?! Wow... ah well I guess I can live without the patch. If I find a fix I'll post it here for future reference.

I somehow ended up with the Iso file for Daggerfall and haven't burned it onto a CD yet...

Hopefully going that route bypasses the problem you're referring too,
because I have I feeling I would really enjoy Daggerfall.

Yeah It'd have been nice if the free download version had been an iso file.

What format is it in? Is there any way to convert it to iso? If so then it should be easy enough to fix.
If nothing else, have you tried playing the game without the patch at all? Ynever now till you try.

It's a zip file with all the game fills on it and the patch. I could try making an iso out of it... not sure the game would recognize it when looking for the game disk though.

Yes I've played the game without the patch and it works beautifully, but every guide I've read say's the patch fixes a lot of REALLY BIG bugs, so I would preferably like to play the game patched =)

(I still can't believe how truly massive the world is in this game =O )

Solved!!!
I figured out where I went wrong. I followed the instructions EXACTLY this time and the patch worked. You need to install the patch immediately after installing the game using the same Dosbox window that the installer used. I was trying to do it later after already closing the install window and opening up another.
