Caz is most definitely a lady, woman, female thing. Half female, but female nonetheless. ( Like Mephala. )

Re: Tell Us About Yourself: New and Improved! (Hopefully)
Greetings all!
Valis here and I'm a 31 year old Canadian female gamer. I'm a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series and I've been gaming on PCs and consoles for quite a long time.
I work in retail (bleah!) but in my spare time I like to write and make smexy art with Daz3D.
Even thought frequently play WOW... my interest in it is waning and I seem to have fallen in love with Obivion all over again. I loose hours and hours to that game....I forgot what a rich and wonderful world it really is.
I'd also like to thank this site for being a part of me re-awakening love for the ES series. The information and detail is second to none!
Thank you.

Welcome to our warm community, Valis; I sincerely hope you find everything here to your liking. May you encounter good friends and forge bonds that will never be broken on the coldest Winter nights.
Grammatically, the object of the sentence: your "interests" and your "self" are different things. In this case, interests and self do interrelate, however, this thread is mainly for telling the community about yourself. If you have any more arguments, I suggest you take your contention up with the mods:Jpot wrote:Why is telling us about your interests any different than telling us anything else about yourself?.
I also believe it was Deandra, in an earlier draft of the rules, who said something like this:Josjie wrote:Off-Topic Posting - Off-topic posting is not allowed. We won't give everyone who goes off-topic a warning but if it happens too often we'll send you a friendly reminder. If it really gets out of hand we will give you an official warning! There's a special thread for off-topic posts so if you really want to go off-topic, you can do it there.
In this thread's case, just such a thing happened when the majority of the posts became about "Football: What Kind, Which One, and How Many?"Deandra wrote:Going off topic is fine every now and then as long as the thread doesn't stall right out of the sky.

Thank you very much randomfrog and Wolf.
So my user name is very close to another users name...hmm can I change my user name?
Oh and another question if you don't mind...why can't I choose an avatar? I seem to be locked out of the option to do so.

Out of a precaution, people who have less than 10 posts and haven't been registered for more than a week can't do things like post links, or have avatars. Generally a mod would fix that problem if you ask.Valis wrote:Thank you very much randomfrog and Wolf.

Re: Tell Us About Yourself: New and Improved! (Hopefully)
What more could I possibly have to write here that I have not written before? What could I possibly show you guys? I mean, most of the people here have seen what I look like. Yet, I feel a strange urge to post something here. I feel a strange urge to come on here and post something new. I have no idea what this "new" is however. Maybe I could write something down about my thoughts? I have noticed that no one really understands me much. I don't blame you, it's my own fault really. I tend to hide lots of things. First of all, my name. Everyone knows it but no one knows what it means to me.
My first name Chris means "Bearing Christ inside." Now, I am not very religious and that is all I will say for fear of being banned ;P Now my middle name is equally interesting. Yovanni, which means "God's Grace" is a name I have come to love quite a lot. It just rolls off the tongue don't you think? Finally, my last name, Amador. It means "Lover" or "One who loves." Why is any of this important you ask? It's quite simple. As I have stated before, my username is a contradiction. I am not Dark and I am most certainly not a Lord. For a lot of people, a username is an extension of what their personality is. It's a bit different for me. When I first wrote in Dark Lord, I thought it seemed cool. The name stuck. Thats pretty much it.
The name has no real connection to my personality other than "I like zombies" and "It sounded cool." To explain this, I have to tell you a nice little story. It involves me, the computer I am currently using and a huge amount of Curiosity. One day, while bored I decided to look up my name on the Internet to see if I could find myself. This little game got old fast when I realized that the other billion or so Christopher's on the web make it impossible for me to find my own house. What I did learn however was the meaning of my first name. I thought it was pretty nifty so I kept on searching. I figured out the rest of my name and thought about it for a while.
The next day while walking home, I happened to see a beggar just sitting on the curb. What got my attention the most however, was that no one paid him any attention. He was invisible. People would walk by and clearly look in his direction but never seem to notice the outstretched hand. This angered me a lot and so I walked up to the beggar said hello and handed him some money. It wasn't the money that cheered him up from what I could tell. It was simply being recognized as something that existed.
After this, I went home and got back on the computer. I decided that I had no idea what I was doing with my life and that I should probably give up. This lasted about a second. A little thought crept up into my head. It was quiet at first and then got louder. It was the memory of what I was doing the day before. Then as I thought about searching for my name and finding the meaning another thought popped up into my brain. That single thought is what makes me keep trying.
I see a lot of people everyday, some of them are quiet and shy and some of them are loud and obnoxious. What annoyed me the most about them was that they all seemed to know where they were going. They all had goals. Most of them planned to go to college and get a good job or whatever. My problem was a simple one. I had no money for college since my family isn't all that rich. Therefore, I couldn't think of anything beyond "Damn!"
Now, back to the thought. What was it you ask? What was it that continues to shape my personality and everything I do or think? It might seem kinda cheesy and lame but this tiny thought consisted of nothing but five words. That's it. These five words, "Live up to your name." It is because of this tiny thought that I now have goals. It is because of this tiny thought that I get to annoy people with my optimism. This is the reason my username is a contradiction. It is the reason I am not a cynical jerk. It is the reason for most of what I do and everything I believe.
Yeah, I know, this sounds cheesy. It sounds like I made it up. I assure you though, this is all real. What proof have I? Simple, I used proper grammar.
I might write a bit more about myself some time in the near future but for now, I'm tired.

Chris, I am going to be honest with you.
This is the first time I even bothered reading a post with more than two paragraphs. And I enjoyed it. Your little wall of text was...refreshing. You, sir, are good. You, sir, will be able to live up to your name. And I, sir, wish you the best of luck.

That's... really amazing, Chris. Why did you never tell us any of this before?
I only wish I had the strength to keep your optimism. I think you're going to do some very good things in life.

We are all very glad for the warning of your impending, massive hangover. May all the noises you hear be loud, obnoxious, and gay; by which, I mean I'm going to hire Elton John to sing you awake before he engages you in a lengthy, unilaterally flamboyant conversation on what you thought of his latest album.

I'm actually fine this morn. I felt worse last night - a number of pints of ale (I can't remember exactly how many) that hasn't been kept very well does that to you.

Hi, I'm Shaleen ^^
I'm 17, from Bristol, England - Horrible, HORRIBLE place :/... Well... Maybe just the area I live in.
So obviously, not much to do in a horrible, horrible place as far as going out is concerned - I'm attached to my bag and everything in it, thank you! Which means I spend most of my time on the PC or PS3!
I've been loyal to Playstation since I can remember... Didn't get a *good* PC until I was like, 11. (I had an old office one, that our uncle gave us, it couldn't play games or go on the internet or anything :/ I spent all my time on paint XD)
I like to draw (If anyone is interested, I got a deviantart, same username as here. It's not too great though, so don't judge to harshly XD - Add (or "watch") me if you have one yourself, and I'll do It back ^^)
And sing, I just took my first singing lesson last week! It was cool.
Besides TES, my other favourite game is The Sims (2, mainly, but I love the others too, even 1)
But my favourite game EVER is "Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure" for PS1. It was awesome.
Ummm, let's move onto looks - Last time I checked I was like 5'8, but I'm taller now, that was a few years ago.
I got dark blonde hair and blue eyes. I'm kinda fat, but hey.
And personality - I can get along with anyone and consider everyone a friend, unless they give me reason to feel otherwise ^^
I dunno if I'm a happy person or not, I'm usually quite happy around people, but I'm kinda grumpy at home, lol.
Ok, so... That's me ^^
