What type of literature scares you?

Post by King Acunasti »

Alright, with Count Santa Synti being reserved for next year (yeah, no new chapters until next October), I want to write another horror story to hold you guys over. And it will be a Christmas-horror story as well (because Christmas is coming :P ). I'm just asking: If you were to read a horror book, what would scare you?

Stuff about Hannah Montana

Hmm. I find alien viruses and things very creepy, like in the Andromeda Strain.

Unholy intervention in human affairs

IDEA! how about a story involving a sappy bunch of poseur satanists who unknowingly unleash a demon upon the dark street of a city on the night of New Years Eve? if you don't write it, I will XP

Ghosts and stuff I find lame. Back in the days when I read 'books' (they seem foreign to me now) I mainly got freaked out by thriller sort of stories/kidnappings. usually where the killer was a trusted person.

Seems more real. So I say realistic things are scarier. Just not necessarily as fun :(

I always get good and freaked out by a stalking story that has the main character eventually dissolve into debilitating paranoia, then recover, then get jumped  :D

Cosmic horror.
Nothing more terrifying than finding out God is some variant of Cthulhu.
It's been good travelling with you, Warden. Don't get lost in the shuffle now.

I know this may be considered necroing the thread, but I had to comment.

There's a difference between a Satanist and someone who worships Satan. Please don't mix up the two.
