NEED HELP!
Okay, I just got Oblivion for the PC. It was going along realy normal. Then I tried using the console command. So, I logged off to get a code. When I got back on and started playing, everything was black except for the menu. I can hear characters speaking but everthing is black and I can't see them. How do I fix this? What's wrong here?

Re: NEED HELP!
Did you completely exit the game, or did you alt-tab out? Though I haven't tried it on my current computer, I remember that on my older, weaker machine the graphics would be messed up when I reentered the game.
... and you know, I don't actually have an Orc character.

Re: NEED HELP!
Just try exiting the game and restarting.
And when things start to happen,

Re: NEED HELP!
Alt-tab doesn't play nice with Oblivion, unfortunately. I've heard some people have managed to get it to work, but it's complicated. Better to just accept that it won't work. Congrats on getting it for the PC, by the way

Even if it was downloaded illegally, that's not something to be discussed here.

I used to play Oblivion, then I took an arrow in the knee.

Re: NEED HELP!
A black screen is a graphics card issue. If you meet the minimum reqs, but not the
recommended reqs (you can check by using canyourunit.com) I suggest always
exiting the game completely, using a dual-monitor setup, or keeping a logbook of
console commands on-hand.

Re: NEED HELP!
Surely a dual monitor set up would slow it down even more? I don't see how it would help.

Re: NEED HELP!
You keep the internet window up on the second monitor, not the game. The game
is on the primary monitor, and you can pause the game, slide your cursor to the other
monitor, find your command, and switch back to the game monitor.

Re: NEED HELP!
Add me to the list of people who have issues with alt-tab. I get a game freeze, not a black screen. It only happens sometimes, seems to depend on where I am when I alt-tab. In menus = bad, normal unpaused game = ok sometimes...but that's my machine. Your mileage will vary.
Re: NEED HELP!
Whenever I alt-tab, my character is stuck with his shield up for some reason
