Was playing Oblivion for my first time and during the tutorial at the part where there is 3 goblins and 3 rats, one of the rats I killed die near the wired gate and it started shaking non stop (at first I thought the rat had disease and than just found out it was a glitch with doors). Later in the game while I was making my way to Weynon Priory, I was walking up a hill on the path and notice a rat rolling down the hill very slowly and just notice there was a guard up at the top of the hill and maybe he killed it?

These are glitches, yes?

-In the breaking the siege of Kvatch at the beginning of the main quest. My char level is 44. We go charging into the first courtyard into a xivilai convention. I counted 22, along with 18 other assorted Daedra.

-Savlian was wearing a tunic and had no pants or greaves on, or any other armor.

-Attempting to get to the castle. I counted 142 assorted Daedra.

-After opening the gates, the castle courtyard. The xivilai convention moved here. I counted 96, along with about 45 daedroth. About. Daedroth piles are REALLY hard to sort and count. There was also another 50 or so other assorted daedra.

I kept leaving the area whenever a dialogue opportunity permitted, trying on different armor and spells as I was woefully outmatched at the very beginning before entering the castle. I think this helped trigger the overspawn. The entire series of battles, with my char 105 chamleon, took about 4 1/2 hours. I had to repair the Sword of the Crusader about 18 times, with all my hits being sneak x6.

I dont know whether they are glitches but its a prime example of why you should do the rescue kvatch quest at a low level
But that cannot honestly be the normal amount even at such a high level so i guess its a glitch... Unlucky

My thinking I would get some allies to survive was dashed about 5 seconds into each area: ... is unconscious. (And everybody else dead). I couldn't use any of my spiffy custom spells. I'd mash the C key and wait, sometimes 3 or 4 seconds, for the spell to go off. It was like wading in thick mud the entire time, barely able to move and then in little spurts.

On the bright side, I did invent a new form of game play when I accidentally hit the E key, shot into the air and found my char 'surfing' on top of the enemies.

Funniest Moment was when I found a Troll dead under a bridge, I went under and searched him, he had a Ale and a Note.

I read the note it said something like

"Me nat gud enuf Trol, me be mad fun of"

I had just bought all the upgrades for rosethorn hall, my made was making me some pie. Janus walks in, says "What?" to me in a confused tone of voice, ends the conversation, walks over and punches my maid. my maid screams "Whats going on?" runs upstairs and hides. the guards come in, janus kills all of them. he then walks back to skingrad castle and goes about his business.


I had to go to skingrad for a quest, i forget which, but after it was done i went to train my block skill in the imperial palace. i was sitting there blocking, and the guards were shooting/slashing me (about half of the melee ones had been killed by the archers, hehe) when janus comes in, asks me "What?" again, and then kills all the guards while they attack me. he then walked back to skingrad.

He followed me to the end of the KotN quest, and helped the knights kill the auraurans. he saved one of them that was about to die, too

He and the unicorn fought, he won only because he's essential until the end of vampire cure.

He killed one of the 3 sirens in the sirens deception quest. he came in right after they attacked.

After that last one, i figured it out. so now i wait for a day whenever i go to skingrad. oddly enough, he always greets me with a confused "What?"

That's an Easter Egg, I believe. Never found it, myself, but it's on the wiki.

I had a glitch where my Magicka got so high it turned around and became 90. It was annoying, but not necessarily interesting.

awhile after I finished the Knights of the 9 quests I went into a random Oblivion gate and after fighting some daedra for a bit, I get a message at the top of the screen "Kellen is unconscious" and I'm thinking, "what? who the hell is Kellen?" Figure out he was the guy with the curse I had to lift but why on earth is he in oblivion? and why is he wearing no armor and has no weapons??

I was travelling just north of the Priory of the Nine when I find a house there with no map marker called 'abandoned house.' Curious I go inside only to find a solitary bandit there and not much else. When I was leaving I get the message 'You have discovered a gate to Oblivion'. When I turn around the house is in flames and an Oblivion gate stands in the ruin. There was also a charred body.

Once I stole an Imperial legion horse and fast traveled bake to the whit stallion lodge and when I got there the guard and me were on the horse and then he got off and if I pressed talk I talked to my self then i got off and the guard killed me but after he tried to get back on the horse and missed and was straddling the air.

Try it some time I've gotten other glitches to happen as well.

I seriously laughed SO hard at this. That's absolutely amazing.

Anyways.... I was at the Arena, and I decided to be sneaky and pick the lock and steal money out of the containter while the Betting Guy (Can't remember if he had a name) was standing by it. He saw me, but the guards didn't notice at all. So he starts attacking me, and he's marked as Essential, so he can only go unconscious. The guards noticed him attack me, and they start attacking him. Eventually I join in on the fun and attack him too. Soon he's flying through the air every few seconds and my screen is overdosing on "so-and-so is unconscious" in the upper left corner. He becomes scared and runs in circles around the Arena while the guards chase him and the archery guards shoot him with arrows.

That totes happened to me once! I think it's a fairly common occurence, though.

These are hilarious haha! I understand that these two first ones aren't glitches but one I first believed them to be at first.

For the Dark Brotherhood, i was supposed to kill the wandering Dunmer for Lucien Lachance (I forgot the name, the guy who was allergic to Mead) so I tracked him to Bravil first thing and found him in the smaller of the Inns (again, forgot the exact name ), where he was sitting down. Of course, he was drinking, yes you guessed it, Mead. As it was, he couldn't move, no matter how long I waited. I decided to risk killing him right in front of everybody (he was surrounded by at least four others, two of which were sitting next to him). I had no chameleon, and my sneak skill was mediocre at best. i'm still not sure how i managed to hit him (one hit kill, by the way) without anyone seeing me! at first i believed it to be a glitch considering how bad a sneak i was,

Later on, as the same character, I made a sorry mistake of summoning something next to both a guard and a creature he was attacking (I didn't want to waste my time, it was something stupid.) Well, for some reason or another the summon found good grounds to attack the guard as well, easily killing him, and giving me the bounty. of course, two other guards come up and ask me to pay the fines, which I did not have the money for (buying a house takes a lot of gold), so I run. he chases me all the way to Leyawinn, during which time my summon kills his buddy (once again giving me the bounty) where he finally gives up chase, and the local guards apparently are unaware of my summon's crime. after selling sufficient stolen objects to pay off my fine, i travel to Bravil where I know a Doyen is (i need to stop making combat characters join the stealth guilds...) there is a thin bridge on the entrance to Bravil, where some random Wolf decides to attack me, easily killed on the bridge. Naturally I attempt to check the body for valuables but for some odd reason my character doesnt want to, he wants to steal a stupid horse instead!
I get a 2000 plus gold fine for two murders and a robbery I didn't mean to do, and on top of that I get kicked out of the Mages guild since apparently the horse was a mages.

This one really is a glitch. Or rather, a glitching glitch. I commonly use the Scroll duplication method considering it's one I am sure isn't patched yet. My brothers both use them as well. none of us usually fail to do the glitch properly (as in, not duplicate the item but just drop it). while doing a quest, my brother finds a Black Soul Gem off a Necromancer, thinking "cool, I can Dupe it now!" he uses it to trap a necromancer soul and tries to duplicate it. not only does the gem not duplicate, but it loses the soul inside it! sooner or later, the duplication glitch stops working altogether! eventually he deserts the black soul gem and the glitch continues to give fruit.

just recently I myself pick up a black soul gem (Two, in fact, i felt lucky.) and soon I continue the main quest line into Sancor Tor (however it's called) inside I find a lot of Gloom Wraiths and I don't really have a whole lot of charge for my enchanted weapon, so i attempt to duplicate a black soul gem. Again, it gives the same problem that my brother previously had. Thinking of his solution, I drop the gems and attempt to dupe an already filled grand soul gem. Instead, all that happens is one gem falls to the floor. I am positive I did the glitch right, and I believe the Black Soul Gems are to blame, although I see absolutely no reason why.

As a side note, if anyone can tell me anything about the glitching glitch I just mentioned, send me a message please! I have fun with the duplication glitch and I don't want it to die!

earlier today, i was approaching a bandit camp, and shot an arrow at the only bandit i could see, then fired again and missed her as she ran around some rocks towards me,
After slaying her,
I approach the camp to collect my loot,
and find the arrow i missed with, imbedded in the temple of another bandit,
but what was weird was,
He was standing upright, directly in the center of his tent.
I could not loot or interact with him in any fashion.

suddenly a rat comes charging in running downward from the hill and about to charge into me.
Rather than hitting me, it flew over me and faceplanted into the rocks and died. I was like wtf lol

Also in the waterfront. I killed a pirate. His mate walked up to me. Stared at the corpse, than back at me and started to sing the wayrest song. I was like..

Don't know if this is a glitch.
In some castle are two thrones. One for the count and one with a flower on it.
I went to sit down on the one with the flower.
Suddenly the flower blasts off the seat miles high with a loud "CRAACK"

after (technicaly) finishing the paranoia quest, i decided to follow glarthir on his killing rampage. i followed him into the girls house, and he started attacking her. his first hit didn't kill, so i decided to step in and help him out with my own iron battle axe. when the girl dies, glarthir starts chasing me. i went half way across anvil, not to mention in to the surilie house and out through the back door, when the guards finaly killed him. then they walk over to me and act like i kill him...oddly it said my fine was zero.

Today I had made a new character a battlemage rather then my usal hack 'n slash characters. I wanted to try out magic and see how I could work with it, due to me usually never using it besides restoring health.

So exploring out in the wilderness around every hill I'm attacked by some random animal. Expecting to be attacked again, I shot a flash blot(I think) before me and apparently hit a wolf. I had not noticed the battle music playing because I was talking with a friend.

Moments later I became a mage hunter. Killing deer using only magic. I am a horrible archer so this seemed like a good way to hunt those fast deer.

okay this just happend today. i was on a ranged character, so i decided to go hunting(roleplay). i picked up full fur, went up to applewatch, and started looking around for deer to kill. suddenly i see these 2 imperial legion foresters fighting. and i was like "omg, again!?"(i've encountered this before). well one eventually killed the other. i was waiting so i could pick up the arrows and bow. i went up to the corpse, tried to get his stuff...and then the other guard starts yelling out "pickpocket! pickpocket! guard your purses!" i was like "wtf?" and then he ran up as if he was going to arrest me, but he just said "hello, citizen!" when the conversation started...well games back to normal. i saw this again on my way to kill rufio...and it was right outside the inn of ill omen. at random rufio comes out and starts attacking one of them. they team up on him, and kill him, thus ending their battle. and i was like "thanks for killing that guy for me...he was going to die anyways but still thanks!"

This has only been tried in Chorrol, and I sat beside Reynald Jemane so maybe it was his alcoholic breath that put the guard off.

Not really a glitch, it was probably put in intentionally, but hilarious all the same.
If you try to toss an essential character down a large incline, they won't go. I was bored and tried this with Martin: I cast a paralyze spell on him, and then cast an area-effect destruction spell on him. He flew over the edge of the Skingrad castle bridge, and then flew back onto it rather than falling. I think this was purposeful, since if you cast an essential character into a bottomless pit (like the one in Arkved's Retreat), it would essentially "kill" the character, even if they couldn't die.

i guess if an essential falls and it would be fatal for non-essentials, they just fly back up to the spot they were at before they fell? cool.
