Epic Battles

Post by Jpot »

What epic battles have you had in your travels in Cyrodiil?
My lv. 1 Redguard tank just recently took on 8 Goblin Skirmishers, one Goblin Warlord, and one Goblin Shaman, all at once, in a dark cave, with about ten weak potions of healing and a big steel claymore. He handed all ten of them their cold dead @$$es. On default difficulty. I hit level two in the process, most likely due to the fact that I gained like 4 heavy armor levels in one battle. I think I've got a rather good character build here.

How 'bout you?
And when things start to happen,
don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along.
You'll start happening too.

but the REAL question is ... did he/you have to use adrenaline rush?

Courtesy of mods, my level 5 character walking around outside of Bruma stumbled into a frost titan. Shocked, I turned and ran through the Bruma Caverns and into the town itself. Little did I realize, I was allowing the thing to follow me through the doors when it probably wouldn't come in the main gates. It turned on a couple townspeople that attacked it once I stepped out of the house, killed them, and then followed me to the front gate where about 6 guards fought it. 2 survived, plus what whacks I could get in without becoming a target.

Myself and 8 other followers or so had an epic battle at the
Spoiler:
final boss fight with Umbacano.
About 10 liches and other assorted undead vs my little army... it was the definition of epic.

A couple days ago, my character--a level 19 Khajiit--took on 4 Land Dreughs, 2 Brown Bears, 3 Spriggans with their Black Bears, 2 Minotaurs and 1 Ogre. With nothing but her bare fists and a few heal potions. The battle lasted nearly 30 minutes but in the end she was the victor.

May I ask where this occurred? That sounds like the Battle of Bruma to me 'cept with beasties instead of Daedra.

I think it was the second zone of Serpent Hollow Cave but I'm not completely sure. The funny thing is, the enemies just kept coming...and coming...and coming...I think by the end of the battle everything in that zone had attacked me.
In all honesty the only reason I survived was that I was able to corral many of the enemies in the narrow corridors of the cave. It was only rarely that more than 2 or 3 could get to me at once. Still, by the end my ebony armor (which started at 125%) was just about shot, and I only had about 20 HP left out of 360.

Jpot--If it makes you feel any better, the same thing happened in Nonungalo a couple days before that and my Khajiit got her butt kicked :)

You want to know something strange about this, you were level 20+ in order for there to be a goblin warlord, yet you still had a steel claymore even though you would have had access to deadric?

I was level 1 Maybe it was a War Cheif, I dunno. I was in the heat of battle, how am I supposed to remember?
Also, it was a Goblin Clan cave, bloody hand, I think, if that makes any difference, in the Cracked Wood Cave on the Cropsford quest.

yeshhhh ... especially if you take thief birthsign and have 50 in all physical attributes to begin with ... then strength, agility, speed and endurance all get pumped up to 100 right off. do the pilgrimage of the wayshrines and get pilgrim's grace adds 10 to all for 110 and if you chose a custom class with luck as a favored attribute and start with 65 luck, it goes to 75 ... 85 if you also get the lucky old lady blessing in bravil ...that equals +14 to all skills ... yeah, redguards rock ... too bad I hate melee ... *sadface* ... :( ... ...

I was walking on my level twenty, going around collect alchemy items, so I can make a Cure Disease potition so I can cure my stunted Magicka.
I was defenseless.
Well I run into 2 Minotaurs, so I continue to run..
Then I run into a Minotaur Lord!
Well I run until I got into the Inn of Ill Omen, I turn around
THEY WERE INSIDE
I run into the basement
Go into a random room.
They couldn't get in. They killed the Inn owner,
but the woman there killed them.
Lol it was great.

Just today I was on my ainmhi Skirmisher (only level 2 at the time) when I decide to do some exploring in the Plundered Mine, not knowing it was home to the Three Feather goblin clan. While sneaking around, I apprently stumbled into their meeting chambers, because there was a crapload of goblins. I ended up fighting what had to have been two to three regular goblins, a few goblin skirmishers, four berserkers, and their War Chief in what amounted to two waves of attackers. True to her class name, I beat a few of them by making hit and run attacks, mainly using my steel bow, and eventually facing them one at a time at the mouth of the tunnel to the 'meeting' chamber. By the end of it, there was a pile of six or seven goblin corpses lying at the tunnel entrence along with all their weapons and shields, and the rest fallen in the immediate area. I only had to drink two weak health potions to survive.

Oh yeah, and I leveled up too.
... and you know, I don't actually have an Orc character.

I used frenzy on a mage scholar in the Arcane University today. Total body count: 4 guards, 3 mages.

i had a pretty heated discussion with eyja the other day. (skingrad house servant) she actually threw some pretty expensive silver dishes at my head and she left for 2 days to live with her sister. so... yeah that was pretty epic.
