Daggerfall sound issue

I've been having issues with daggerfall playing the background music. I'm playing it on Windows XP using the Dosbox emulator and the sound worked fine until just recently. The sound effects are still present, but the in game music is not. Its not an issue with in game settings, and I'm reluctant to reinstall it because I'm not sure if it will retain my saves. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd say reinstall. Just back-up your saves.

In your /DAGGER/ folder there should be about 6 folders called 'SAVE' and a number from 0-5. Just copy these and place them somewhere safe, reinstall, and put them back.
