I would either get an ogre, a dog, a wolf or a Drago
i mean it would be better than a horse and it could fly you faster anywhere and burn/bite anyone to death

I would have to say a Daedroth, behind that mean streak im sure it could be a nice cute pet to have. Cuddly and play full even, fiercely loyal no doubt too.

they are ... I have one ... I have several pets ... it's called "conjuration" ...

Ye i know its called Conjuration but you cant exactly call them pets. They are more like Combat Allies rather then pets.

oh, you mean like WoW's "pets" ... or the imp that follows Thauron around the Anvil Mage's Guild ... or the scamps from the Staff of the Everscamp ... or ... ? think I'll just stick with conjuration ...

a giant mudcrab would make a good pet.

I would have it guard the bottom of my garden where it meets the river, and where i keep my boat. I would fortify it with a load of sigil stones etc to stop random wandering nobheads from just using it for weapons practice.
Maybe get one of the blacksmiths to forge eight crab bracers and a couple of claw bands, or if i was really keen i might take it to Vvardenfell where magic works differently and you can soul trap permanent spell effects into things.

Lol a permanently invisible flying giant mudcrab! strap a chair on him and he'd double up as transportation

I would choose an Elk if they where in the game, But there not so I would choose a Boar or a Dog.

A Land Dreugh would be cool. Or a ridable Clannfear (I hear there's a mod for that...). Outside Oblivion I think a pet Stegosaurus or Ankylosaurus would be pretty cool.
