Question about Daedric Armor...

Post by Elzar »

I have a question about Daedric armor.
I'm level 20, which means I can find it. But can I go to Kvatch, kill a Daedra there, and grab its armor? Or do I have to find it like finding the other armors?

I seldom ever find Daedric armour on Daedra. I think this is largely due to the fact they don't wear it, rather Daedric armor is made from Daedra skin (much like leather is made from cattlehide). You're more likely to begin discovering it in loot or on people, and the higher you go the more common it becomes (well, semic-common). I got an entire suit from Agamir by completing the Unfriendly Competition mission a lot later in the game. But yeah, it will appear but more likely on humans than Daedra. Daedra tend to carry Daedric weapons than armour though sometimes it works.

Just a note: Daedra aren't people, they're creatures, so "grabbing their armour" isn't quite possible because they don't wear any. What they appear to be wearing is in fact natural to them.

Ah...
That makes like no sense.
Crazy Bethesda! Ah well, thanks alot.

But a question- where can I find a dungeon with occupants who wear high level gear? I usually run Fort Strand, but I always find like Dwarven.

Try Infested Mine. I just had a killing spree there, and went home with alot of orcish armor (at level 13).
I used to play Oblivion, then I took an arrow in the knee.

It largely depends on your level; at 20 you're only at the base so Daedric armour will begin to appear but usually sparsely. As you climb the ladders it will appear more and more, in fact you'll even begin to come across bandits and outlaws with whole suits. It just takes time. ^_^

Alright. I'll check out the Infested mine and if I find none, level up a bit.

That's not quite true. Dremora are considered to be NPCs. That's why you can only soultrap them with black soul gems. As such, they wear armor or robes. Not daedric armor, but dremora armor, which isn't as good as daedric. The reason you can't loot them is because these types of armor or clothing are locked like the palace guard armor.

The "Modular Oblivion Enhanced" mod makes these types or armor available.

wow thats nice it makes me think that Bethesda should have made it so you can use multiple soul gems when enchanting stuff so you can have bigger effects than +10

I was kinda bummed when I used a black soul gem to enchant a item and it only gave me +10 to skill I'm not sure if the same magnitude applies to attributes
