Sound Glitch

I just got Daggerfall this week and when I installed it there was no sound.

I've downloaded the latest patch and still nothing. What could it be?

the sound works for everything? Have you checked the in game settings? Tested the sound card?

I've never had sound work without using dosbox.

Once I went in (without dosbox) and manually force-fed the setup program information about my soundcard (pretending to be a Sound blaster Pro) and I got sound, but it was agonizingly choppy, I just use Dosbox now. It's laggy, but sound is easy to set up.
