Also, undecided can mean that you may not be absolutely certain where your attraction lies. In other words, I, as a girl, may have felt attracted to both sexes, but not having had experience with one or both, been unsure of where my orientation will lie. It is not necessarily as obvious as it might seem.

That's because stereotypes are sometimes true. I meant that in a non offensive way.

I'm straight. 'Course, I had a couple ... less than comfortable experiences. But, I've been with my girlfriend for over a year now, and we've gone through a lot, and we've both come to the understanding that love isn't something you fall into or out of. Love is sacrificing everything for someone that you truly care about. We just care about each other more than any of our other friends. So there's been a lot of sacrifice, and it's all been worth it. I can't see being with anyone else, and since she's not a guy, and I am, that'd classify me as completely straight.

As Donut (RvB) would argue, it's not pink, it's lightish red!
But then again, his 'interests' were slightly in that direction...

You had to mention me, didn't you, sweetheart?

Yes sirs and mams, the original homosexual of the UESP is here! You didn't expect this to go on too long before I came in and flaunted my queerness around, did you? :P

Now, while I don't claim to be an expert on sexuality, my experiences with many, many people of so many different orientations and persuasions has enlightened me somewhat, so I may be able to provide some interesting information.

*clears throat* First off:
T PoPTartzz T wrote:I'm straight. 'Course, I had a couple ... less than comfortable experiences. Love is sacrificing everything for someone that you truly care about. We just care about each other more than any of our other friends. So there's been a lot of sacrifice, and it's all been worth it. I can't see being with anyone else, and since she's not a guy, and I am, that'd classify me as completely straight.
The gender of your partner does not classify your orientation; many men who consider themselves "straight" are actually bisexual because they do not take into account the fact that, no matter the gender of who you're interested in, personality-wise, sexuality is about attraction to genders, not attraction to people. If you are, in fact, only attracted to someone's personality regardless of gender, you're classified as "pansexual". Take into note, however, that in order to be considered "gay", for instance, the possibility of lifetime partnership with someone of your own gender must an option. If you only want your own gender for sexual gratification, well.. honsetly, get out of our pool, you're mussing it up... and try to save your urine for the toilet, please! We don't need your vindiction showing itself as a purple stain in the water!

Secondly:
Leilah wrote:Undecided can mean that you may not be absolutely certain where your attraction lies. In other words, I, as a girl, may have felt attracted to both sexes, but not having had experience with one or both, been unsure of where my orientation will lie. It is not necessarily as obvious as it might seem.
How right you are! Sexual orientation is not a definite concept. While I, being a male solely attracted to males, have defined myself in the sexual spectrum, there are many, many more people who have not. Your hormones are partly to blame for this during teenage years, as this is the time when your body matures sexually, and so figures out which one of the lucky gender-pools you will have for your own. As I stated above, there are even some people who do not deal in gender at all, only personality, so they choose to identify themselves as "pansexual", literally meaning "cross sexual". They cross the boundary lines between gay, straight, and bisexual. These people are different than bisexual people, as bisexual people look to either gender for sexual gratification, and not necessarily personality, pansexual people look to personality, only, to find attraction. In my opinion, this has got to be the purest form of gratification existent....

Thirdly, and lastly:
Icyblaze13 wrote:
Dogmantra wrote:My coins are pink. I could hardly not have some same-sex... urges.
maybe its just me but that seems to be conforming to a stereotype :/
Stereotpyes are such for a reason, Mr. Blaze  . I myself, being a gay person, while not as effeminate as amany other gay people one might find in the limelight, recently found myself letting loose to Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" :P . To be honest, I'm not sure what it is, but effeminacy, while not a determinate of sexuality, does have a connection to it. Not all effeminate males are gay, but there is a very good chance that, if you find a male who is effeminate, he is homosexual as well.

Conforming to stereotypes, however, is not as bad as one might think. Social stigmas will always be commonplace in society, but if you are gay and love to go out clubbing and wear drag, more power to you :D . It's about being who you are, not about being different. Many people mistake homosexuality as an attempt for non-conformity, or even as an attempt to conform to a different set of rules, and while in some cases there are people who claim to be homosexual solely for the purpose of being different, most gay men are gay because that's just what felt right to them. That's certainly the way it is for me! I'll be honest, I myself did have a reluctancy to claim that I'm actually a huge fan of the fairy scene, Lady Gaga, and just normal gay stereotypes, but I came to realize that I was only afraid of being "labeled" or "branded". If you don't feel that you're into pop music and clubbing, that's fine, you might be ready to settle down with someone and have kids-- I know that, mostly, I'm ready for just such a thing, but there's still a fire deep inside of me that wants me to let loose every now and then -- but if you are one for the glitterati and pride parades, then go have fun and dance your way onto the stage! Just be who you really are, and you can't go wrong. Although, psychological help is recommended for those of you who frequently hurt other people by being who you are  . I'm looking at you Dark Lord! :P
