Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!
What about the initials CT? Is that one of the clues as well?

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!
So, our first clue to go on is that this took place before Tiber Septim. This could, however, be referring to three different time frames: Before he was born, before he was famous, or before he became a god. The 2E245 is definitely a year, but of what? The CT is involved, but it is definitely not Camonna Tong. I say this because this riddle is claimed to be harder than Kestral's, and Camonna Tong would not be hard to come up with. So this is lore, I'm positive of that, and it is something that took place before something involving Tiber Septim. My first guess would be something involving Jagar Tharn, but it is just that, a guess.

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!
Let me clarify... the "C" and "T" are parts of separate keys, not part of one. Also, the "B4 Tiber" is referring to before he was born, and the numbers are NOT referring to the year 2E 245 but that is close....

I think I'm going really far out on a limb here, but anything would sound ridiculous at this point, right?
It's the Dawn Era, or something related to it.

The problem with that, however, is that there is no record of when Tiber was born. We know he was born in the Second Era, and had been alive for at least 20 years before declaring the start of the Third Era. Since it takes time for one to become a General, and he was at least 20 before he made it to Colovia, we can't place a certain date on when he was born. But we can use this information, along with this timeline to estimate his birth before 2E 832 (since the first mention of General Talos is in 2E 852 and he was at least 20 before becoming a general). If anyone can be more accurate, that'd be great. As it stands now, we're looking for prominent people or events before 2E 832.mptrj wrote:Also, the "B4 Tiber" is referring to before he was born...

I'd love to know what that means... As far as I figure, if it's not the letters themselves, then it would be their corresponding number when listed in alphabetical order. Hence "C" would mean "3" and "T" would mean "20". Then again, it could be the words "Conquered" and "Torn" that are significant. Either way, it's not initials.mptrj wrote:No, not the letters themselves (trying not to give it away)
As we've figured out, there is nothing significant about 2E 245. There's also nothing in the First Era about the year 2245. The only thing with a close date is the Thrassian Plague, but why would Tiber need mentioning if he was still hundreds of years from being born?mptrj wrote:... and the numbers are NOT referring to the year 2E 245 but that is close....
What we know:
- Before Tiber Septim was born
What we need to resolve:
- The numbers 2, 2, 4, 5 (they do not indicate the 2E 245)
- The letter "C" (which is seperate from...)
- The letter "T"

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!
This is going out on a limb, but what if the numbers represent 225 not 2245. We have already used the "4" for a clue. Also, the 225 are spelled out. Could it be 2E25? or if you put it into T9 it spells out Bal? or alphabetically it is BBE? Can anyone feed off this?

The key is 2245, although I can't tell you what those numbers mean.

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!
-_- so it's a numerical code then? I hope you realize how many thousands of different numerical codes exist. We may be able to narrow it down to a couple hundred by relating the methods to the game, but that is still a stretch. In order for this to be a proper riddle, we need some sort of direction. Simply saying that a succession of numbers is some kind of hey isn't good enough. If you could give some kind of vague information for us to use in figuring out this formula, I would be satisfied. I am going to attempt to set a direction by saying it could refer to stanzas?
1. they Conquered my emotions, forever.
2. two birds in two nests. (*2)
3. how eloquent, their voices
4. the 4 different songs they sing.
5. but the season was winter!
6. how is it that
7. any bird could sing when
8. the earth was so gray...
9. the red birds I saw that day, when I was five.
10. I am Torn as to which bird's voice was prettier
This doesn't make any sense to me, but it could be of some use.

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!
It's already been said that 2E 245 is close, so I'm thinking 2245 has to do with time, not stanzas.

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!
If 2245 isn't the year, how else could this number be a clue as to time? I'm thinking that we'll have to dig deeper than forthright appearances. I was just trying to throw an idea out there, no matter how bogus it seems. My point still remains, we need some sort of direction for the mystery number or we will take it in way too many directions. My stanza idea was just an example of such.

That would put us at 1E 1505, approximately. Nothing listed. I think you might be on the right track, though.

We could put a range timeline around that year and search for anything close to the time.

(facepalm)
We've already figured that out, we're trying to figure out if it's anything close to that time. Maybe within a couple hundred years or something.

I doubt that mptrj would be the kind of person to settle for "close enough" date-wise.
And when things start to happen,

Just go right along.
You'll start happening too.

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!
That's not quite what I was going for. I was thinking more like a capped search of anything important during the couple hundred years around that time. I am not the type to try to pull information out of the riddler, that can't be seen as a win.

I'm pretty much stumped too. I just try to give broad ideas as to help things move in the right direction.
