Stuck on The Ultimate Heist

Post by sanadai »

Well... i think im stuck... PERMANENTLY.... i have the ps3 version of Oblivion btw. Ok well so i started the ultimate heist quest, and since im not the stealthy kind of person i decided to do the quest with brute force... like insteading of sneaking past the guards i run past them or kill them... i did this until i got the to the Elder Scrolls Library, where im supposed to be sitting on a chair waiting for the monk to give me the scroll, but unfortunately since i have a bounty from killing those annoying guards then the monks attack me automatically instead of giving me the Elder Scroll.... yeah...... what am i supposed to do now? Cant believe im stuck on THE LAST quest before i get that cowl :x

First of all I would say that killing is against the rules for the thieves guild that might be the biggest problem. Do you have a previous save?

I wound up going stealth for that whole quest. A couple of invisibility potions and it was nothing. If I had the invisibility spell that I have now, back then it would have been even easier.

If anything, make sure you don't lose those boots. Fortify your health and acrobatics before you make the final plunge down the fire escape, and you should survive without the boots on. Otherwise you'll lose them forever, and I can't emphasize how much those boots helped in the hundred or so hours afterwards.

Playing on PS3, huh?:)
Then I'm no help. But if you were playing on PC you could use the console to remove your bounty.

When's your most recent Autosave from? Have you tried using that and going into stealth straight away? Maybe try exiting whatever door you went through that triggered the Autosave, then going back through the door again, all as stealth.

Though I don't know if being undetected will prevent the monks from attacking.
