Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Today I 'got' irony.
Bsically me and my friend liked the same girl, so both scared the ask the other one what we should do about the situation. I decided to get over the girl. So it wouldn't be awkward for him to date her. However i kept this secret. The next day on msn I informed him that i was over her(yeah one day to get over somone? WTF?), he replied 'So am i, i met this great girl today'.
I felt Silly
.
Btw is this Irony?

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Not irony (well maybe a little), just indecisiveness on the part of the friend. Irony would be if you got over her and started wanting another girl, and it turned out that the new girl your friend had found was the same one you were "into", as it were.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I've spent most of the day, and the last few days, e-mailing studios in Brighton looking for jobs. No positive responses yet, although one of them did at least have the courtesy to reply telling me they had no jobs available.
And my opinion of Oblivion has gone from 'I can take it or leave it' to 'It's actually quite good' since I bought it for my housemate's PS3 and massive flatscreen HD TV - for the first time ever I can play it without the lag and with the graphics not all on the lowest settings. I am Steven 'Wizard' Thelemanz - Conjurer. Destructionist. Swordsman. Illusionist. Adventurer. Stamp collector. Also, a contest has begun between me and said housemate to see who can make the best hand-to-hand-based character. Will it be the elderly, ugly Nord Dave 'The Fist' Smith (his) or sartorially elegant Khajiit Ian The Pugilist? (mine) Let battle commence.

@r:
If for no other reason yours wins because of the name and description.
So, I've been playing lots of Spore. It's awesome.
So my cat, Nashira, had kittens (again). They're all black and they're all adorable and fat. They've only just opened their eyes but they're already starting to develop their own tiny little personalities: like the fat one that won't be still and has to explore everywhere, the overly friendly one, the skinny one that's banshie-loud, and the other fat one that sits around by itself away from the rest of the group. Halloween should be a blast!

I just got a brand new pair of speakers because the left one of my old pair was being a piece of crap and these dont use an AC adapter for power just a USB port.

Bisquick's not really a brand of pancakes (as in frozen pancakes), it's the flour type stuff you use to make them.Dogmantra wrote:Bisquick?

Y'know, I just realized you can make pancakes with plain flour. I always thought you had to use bisquick. I don't think I've ever even had a non-bisquick pancake before. Huh.Dogmantra wrote:Never! I used normal plain flour like any person should!

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Ingredients:
4oz/110g Plain Flour
½ pint/275ml Milk
2 eggs
Pinch of salt
Method:
Sift the flour into a bowl. Pour the milk on. Crack both eggs and add the white and yolk. Add a pinch of salt. Whisk thoroughly. Leave to stand for five minutes. Heat oil in a frying pan. Pour some of the mixture onto the pan. Cook for a while. Flip. Serve. Coat with sugar and lemon juice. Consume.
Note: these are English pancakes, so they are supposed to be THIN.

Teinaava's Bisquick Pancake Recipe That Definitely Wasn't Copied From The Back Of The Bisquick Box
Ingredients:
2 cups Bisquick
1 cup milk
2 eggs
Method:
Put ingredients in a bowl and mix until, well...they're mixed. Heat up a frying pan and put some butter on it to keep the batter from sticking. Put the batter in the pan and cook until it's golden brown. Serve topped with butter and syrup.

Bisquick is truly the only way to make pancakes. Its not so much personal opinion as it is scientific fact.
At least tell me you used aunt jemima syrup?

At first, I thought you said "sneakers", right up to the point where you mentioned them needing an AC outlet.Valus wrote:I just got a brand new pair of speakers because the left one of my old pair was being a piece of crap and these dont use an AC adapter for power just a USB port.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Seeing as I didn't even know what Bisquick was until Tein told me, and it measures in "cups" (which I'll never understand... CUPS CAN BE DIFFERENT SIZES GUYS!), I doubt they even sell either of those things here. Besides, the real way to eat pancakes (and I mean English pancakes here, so not those thick monstrosities you have in the US of A) is slathered in sugar and lemon juice.leroybrown wrote:Bisquick is truly the only way to make pancakes. Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
It's a standard measurement?
Oh my! I mean, it doesn't matter for things where everything is measured in cups as long as you use cups of the same size for everything, but why can't they just tell you it in grams or something?
