"1 new message"

For some reason, the private message part on the top of the page will not reset.

It keeps saying "1 new message" even after logging out, and deleting my whole inbox. Is there a way a mod/administrator can fix this?

Send yourself a message and delete that. It might reset it.

We mods do not have access to your inbox, so we can't help you there. Are you sure there is no subfolder somewhere containing something unread?

I don't have another folder other than the usual, the saved messages and inbox. Both of which are empty.

You had an unread message in your "hold" box, which can happen when your inbox becomes too full. I don't know why it wasn't automatically moved back to your inbox, but I've hopefully now moved it manually.

The default setting for the new software is to put all incoming messages on hold until you clear space in your PM box. Perhaps Kestral has it set to this?

To change it to delete your messages automatically, click on 0 new messages, then select Rules, Folders and Settings on the left. Then you change it to "Delete Oldest Messages" rather than "Do Not Accept New Messages"
