$10?! Not worth it!

I have a question. I would like all my profile names to match, so i went on my 360 and decided i would change the name on there to this one. THEY CHARGE 800 LIVE POINTS ($10)! Is there a way to get around that? could i create a new profile and transfer my DLC to it, or is that illegal? Anyone know a way around this? As much as it seems like $10 is the only way through this, I mean, Really? $10?!

Anything you download to the system works on all accounts, I believe. You may want to make a new account and hold off on adding Gold to it first, though.

but the problem is that im pretty sure it is tied to account X, so i cant delete that account.
EDIT: Actually, there is nothing that says that, so i am going to try to make a new account, move the old one to a memory card, and remove the memory card.
ALSO: is there a way to transfer oblivion save files from one profile to another?

I don't think you need to move the files at all. The profiles and DLC are located on the HDD, and I'm pretty sure it'll load them, no matter the original downloader. I have a friend who shares his XBox with his brother, and when CoD4's DLC came out, they only had to play it once, but could play on both accounts.

I know. I'm saying that it should be fine, save those profiles on a memory card, sign on tot he other profile, and save them again.

you have absolutely no access to them. they dont even show up unless the appropriate user is logged on.

there is an extremely hard way to change your name, I didn't do it however. Still, two people on my friendlist succeeded.

Do you mean by having people file a complaint on you for having an inappropriate GamerTag, RG? That's worked, but it only works if you have a lot of friends who will do it for you.

$10 is definitely the most easy way. But if you want to go with the creating a new profile thing, then you would have to transfer the licenses over. I have done it before, it's not hard. And with the friends filing complaints to change your name, Microsoft is cracking down on this. They look at your name to see if it offensive and any way. If it isn't, there is a chance you will be banned... I know I wouldn't risk it.

Because Microsoft are money grabbing sillies the Greatest Thing Ever™ and we should give them money to show appreciation.

I think, in all honesty, it's to discourage it. It isn't good for them when you change a name.

I think Microsoft should use a username/nickname system. I see a lot of free games having you log in like this. Not only can you change your nickname whenever, it becomes harder for hackers to get ahold of your account (unless your nick and user are the same). I believe PSN uses something similar.
