Haha they use to annoy me as well, but no more. Heres a little tip that i found out. They are similar to wolves when they fight and can easily be beaten with your weakest attack. If you run up to them so that they are at point blank range and wait like a millisecond then step back they will swipe at you. Just step a few steps back though so that they swipe, if you step too far back theyll leap after you. Then repeat. You can do this to a lot of creatures in oblivion its ridiculously easy to kill them they cant hit you once you get it right. This is another one of the things i was gonna complain about in the "how would you fix oblivion thread."

I see... a clever and wonderful tactic indeed!
Thanks for sharing it!

I voted both "no" and "I hate them with a passion", which is a bit of an odd combo without some explanation. They're not overpowered, though they are strong, but I do think they're introduced at a little bit too low of a level. They're strong and fast, but fairly vulnerable, making them a tough match for early characters with underdeveloped offensive capabilities, but a quick kill for stronger characters so long as you hit them hard and fast. I hate them because they kick the @#%$ out of me at low levels, but they're more of a nuisance later on.

Agreed, they come at way too early a level, especially if you're not a warrior class...

They do seem to be a bit too powerful for lower levels. Also, if anyone has ever noticed, when you do kill them, they twitch and fall at extremely ODD angles, every single time!
Example: Once after I killed one, it fell at such an odd angle that it looked like it had its head up its butt and it twitched all the way down a hill and into the sea that surrounds Anvil.

You know what's worse than a mountain lion?
Not just TWO of them... but tow mountain lions attacking you while they are INVISIBLE!

out near Aleswell or whatever it's called I forgot to kill all the invisible creatures... I got mauled later by a maybe 2 lions and a bear or something... throw in a couple rats as well.
I was surprised to say the least and started keeping detect life closer at hand (jan stack 5 100~ ft effects and make sure i see them coming)

Mountain lions are more annoying than anything else. Just get an absorb health effect and you're good to go.

don't forget a weakness to magicka effect in case your basic absorb just doesn't work well enough.videogmer314 wrote:Mountain lions are more annoying than anything else. Just get an absorb health effect and you're good to go.

No no no, the absolute WORST creatures to run into are those stupid minotaurs defending the unicorn!!! I swear, whenever I start a new game, I always seem to wander into the grove and get pummeled by them. AND THEN the frikin unicorn has to put in his two cents as well and be all 'not affected by normal weapons'. Mleh. Stupid fanciful creatures!!!
