Permanent Enchantments
Ok first I want to apologize for making several threads within... probably an hour, but all my Oblivion needs came out.
Like in Morrowind where you could have permanent enchanments such as summons, was there any method (xbox) of doing so on Oblivion still?

Re: Permanent Enchantments
There is a glitch...
Enchant an item of clothing with the permanent enchantment you would like. Second, get at least two pairs of scrolls (i.e. 2x Flash Bolt and 2x Snowball). Then, with the enchanted clothing equipped, cast the spell and quickly go into your inventory. Attempt to equip the other scroll type twice, and then drop your enchanted item. There should be TWO of the enchanted items on the ground, and you should still have the enchantment in effect.
I may have left something out. It's been a while since I tried this glitch.

Re: Permanent Enchantments
duplicate loads of rings, then hoard (or also duplicate) sigil stones of your liking.
enchant all the rings, well about 10 at a time.
Name them a, aa, aaa, aaaa etc till you get 10. (next ten would be called b ofcourse) .
duplicate all 10 rigs by 2, so you have 2 a's 2 aa's and so on
then, equip one and duplicate the other of the 2 rings by 2, they are both removed from you inventory but the effect stays.
this about what you mean?
oops sorta same as above

Re: Permanent Enchantments
the enchante item duping would work for fortifications and whatever you can enchant clothing with. But summons aren't able to be made permanent.

Re: Permanent Enchantments
So is all this on the Wiki anywhere?
This stuff is actually very interesting, so can you use the same item twice? Like use a ring to increase your magicka, then do it again to continuiously increase your magicka? (maximum magicka)

There is a glitch with fortify magicka equipment. If you continuously take it off and put it back on, it'll restore your magicka, free of charge.Dragour wrote:So is all this on the Wiki anywhere?

no... like say you enchant a ring, call it ring1.Dragour wrote:So is all this on the Wiki anywhere?

you dupe it and get 2. equipe one and repeat the dupe to get a third one or more (making sure to drop the unequipped one) and both are forced out of your inventory and the enchant is in place forever.
any enchanted item used like that can never be worn again at least from what i've seen.
you'd need many rings/necklaces/pieces of clothes to reach a desired amount.

Re: Permanent Enchantments
Get anything enchanted with fortify magicka and repeatedly unequip and reequip it. It'll restore your magicka, regardless of your race and birthsign. The greater the magnitude, the faster your magicka will increase. The best part of it is that it's completely free, minus the cost of the equipment, which you can usually find in dungeons or make yourself.Dragour wrote:... Even for Atronach Altmers?... Re: Permanent Enchantments
my two cents:
The reason Bethesda did not put summoning as enchantable is kind of obvious; it's because they would have to make a whole new spell and use it solely for enchanting purposes, which would have to be triggered at the altar by you having the appropriate matching summon spell.
...WHAT?
I will elaborate. What happens when you put something like damage health on clothing? Does it damage your health 5 points? No. It does 5 damage per second. This is the same thing that would happen if you put summoning into apparel. It would summon one of the appropriate creature or weapon per second. It would result in you obtaining many weapons. It would be utterly useless as a creature summon because the creature would reset it's targeting program and he would have to find an enemy all over again. The only way to fix this would be to make a custom spell only available to enchantments. And even then, if you had a daedroth bound to your armor and you summoned a clanfear, it would remove the daedroth. Then what? you would have to unequip and reequip the armor to summon him(which is the same reason they left invisibility out of enchanting) and Bethesda would have to solve that problem. Instead they opted for the easy way out and neglected to allow you to enchant with summoning.

Re: Permanent Enchantments
Damage and restore effects are like how you described, but everything else like drain or summon don't update every second.

Re: Permanent Enchantments
