One-click attacking?

I'm playing the free Daggerfall on DOSBox now. Forever ago when I was playing the CD version, I'm pretty sure I had something set up where I could swing a sword by just pressing a key once, instead of clicking and dragging. The attack was the standard sideways swing. You had fewer combat options, but could play using only the keyboard.

I can't remember how to do this anymore. Anyone have tips?

Try toying with the control settings, but I am fairly certain you will not be able to do this.
