Silent Hill

Post by alowe »

had anyone seen this movie? it's a horror but has a few interesting ideas in it. after watching it i thought, that was the best horror since The Ring (japanese version), only to find that silent hill is directly inspired by a game series created by another japanese company (figures).

also, another good movie that fits well into the asian style horror genre is The Eye (the chinese original version). why do these films keep getting remakes anyway, when the originals are 99.9% totally better? EDIT: i figured it out - money, money, money

i really liked the movie as i love the games.
great visuals and very loyal to the game, creepy but not scary though which was a shame. a sequel is supposed to be in the works but not confirmed.

The movie Silent Hill was poor, a sad version of the first (awsome) game which actually did make you crap your pants. The movie was ok but it could have been better.

How could you watch the movie without knowing that it was inspired by a game? :?
Most people who have played the games were confused as hell by that movie, much less someone who hasn't already seen the story.

just never heard of the game before watching the movie. i'm not actually a big games person, just play some games thoroughly

asked a friend if they had seen silent hill. they have already played the game and thought the movie wasn't that good. they said resident evil as an example of a better movie. resident evil for me was nowhere near as good (which ironically is another japanese inspired movie). i guess it's in the eye of the beholder

I thought, as a movie based off of a movie, Silent Hill could have been WAY worse. I like to watch it when it's on! ^________^

As a game though, it holds a very special place in my heart. <3
I've pretty much memorized everything about it.

I love the monsters!
But my hate of all things scary and depressing means I will never play the game.
EDIT-Heres the real ending by the way.

i thought it was easy to follow, they just took storyline ideas from the games esp from SH1 and twisted it around slightly, of course it wasnt the best storyline but a great visual movie to watch :D best game adaptations yet.
tths why i wish they would get on with the bioshock movie!
