Re: The Elder Scrolls V Discussion
You know what I want in ES5? Beards. Proper ones. I mean, in Oblivion it was just about possible to get some manly stubble going on but it left your character looking very anemic, and some proper Gandalf-style facial growth just wasn't an option. Do Bethesda have any idea how hard it is to RP a magic-based character who doesn't have a beard?

Agreed. I would also like to see different heights, weights, and builds in characters beyond just race.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V Discussion
have you ever tried giving the character a huge chin/jaw, placing the mouth quite high and colouring the beard in so the big jaw actually looks like a beard?

Re: The Elder Scrolls V Discussion
I hope they have a more indepth fighting system in tes:V. Not just swinging swords side to side, and your special attacks would be real animations, not just spinning around. I dought this would ever happen, but a full damage model system would be cool. I've always been one for gore, and nothing is more satisfying then blocking someones attack, to followup with a headchop.
Also they could add new bow effects, like when your skill reaches a certain level, you can put spin on your arrowrs and they do more damage, and twist your enemy in air when they die. Also you could shoot multiple arrows at once (Shotgun bow anyone!).
This would all be cool, but i dought it will ever happen, and I dont think tes:v will come out before 2011 sadly, because now bethasda owns id, and will have to fund their projects also, which means less time for the elder scrolls.

There's Rogue Agent. There's Wet. There's Brink. There's Fallout DLC. There's the supervision of FO New Vegas. There's the id software purchase.
I doubt the fifth TES chapter will be out before 2011 indeed.

Perhaps it's a cover-up? Maybe Bethesda is trying to trick us...

Re: The Elder Scrolls V Discussion
1) Bethesda is not working on Rogue Agent. Rogue Warrior maybe. At that, they are publishing it. Not developing it.nyk45 wrote:There's Rogue Agent. There's Wet. There's Brink. There's Fallout DLC. There's the supervision of FO New Vegas. There's the id software purchase.

2) WET is being made developed Artificial Mind and Movement, but Bethesda is publishing.
3) Bethesda is co-developing Brink with Splash Damage. (Technically, their publishing that and Splash Damage is developing. >.>)
4) They've basically finished all DLC. Mothership Zeta probably only has one or two small tweaks left, and then it needs to be prepped for launch.
5) Bethesda is publishing New Vegas, Obsidian is developing.
6) Bethesda does not handle id Software, that is Zenimax's job.
There doesn't seem to be much on their plate for actually "making" a game.

Good enough.
But it still feels weird to see Bethesda with so many projects at once.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V Discussion
Even though they aren't devolping, bethasda is very small, only around hundred employees. Thats nothing compared to huge devolpers like ea. They have alot on their hands, and they tend to have many passion projects. They had half of their team on fallout 3 and it took over 3 years. When they do start working on TES:V they will probably make it one of those projects that never seems to end. As long as V comes out in the next 5 years i'll be happy.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V Discussion
In the last 2 years of Morrowind's production, they started to develop Oblivion. When Morrowind was released they started to do it at full throttle. In the last two years of Oblivion's production, they started to do Fallout slowly. When Oblivion was released they started it full throttle.
If they are to do it, I am going to say it's been in work since 2007/2008.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V Discussion
Work on Fallout 3 began before Oblivion was released, and Oblivion was planned before Morrowind.
Development on Oblivion began after the release of Morrowind, full development of Morrowind ended around 2003. (Technically 2008, because that was when the last patch was released.) Full development of Oblivion ended in 2007.
Fallout 3 is still under development with the 5th DLC coming soon. (And perhaps word of an expansion or another DLC)
Oblivion was not started "full throttle" they split their time between Morrowind's Expansions and DLC, and more time was split between Oblivion and Fallout 3 two years later.

Oh yeah, I kind of forgot expansions.
Humm, still... Chances are that it's under development already.
