I lol'd. I never bought global warming; even from the start, it just seemed to vague. Also, i've never trusted Al Gore since he said he invented the internet

Al Gore lost the 2000 election and he just wants to get money and power so he helped in the Global Warming Scheme. If half of their suggestions became laws that would have been the end to freedom as we know it. Its a good thing we had a good President in the USA for the past 8 years.

Yeah, Darth Vader was an excellent president. The Emperor was an excellent vice president as well.

Bah, this is what this thread is about. Global Warming is a political scandal. Talking Global Warming is essentially talking politics.

Talking politics is mentioning what Dogmantra just said. Saying global warming is spearheaded by liberals is not.

Ah, well then. Global Warming happens to be nothing more than a lie propagated on such a massive scale that even the schools teach kids that it is true and don't even present it as a debated theory. Back in the fifth grade I was fed this bullcrap and they expected 9 year olds not to know any better. Sneaking it in under parents' noses is what that is.
They showed us The Inconvinient Truth and tried to buy us over to all kinds of left-wing ideals. It worked because half my generation gets their news from Saturday Night Live and the Colbert Report. Bleh.

Sweet jesus, 5tealth. What exactly happened in your life to scar your mind so much? Did a group of liberals bring you into an alley and beat you with a bat or something? Regardless of what's causing ALL of this, there are things we do need to worry about, like the Ozone, extreme conditions in the arctic (even if it isnt 'global warming', the deaths of cold water animals rose by nearly 150% last year, which could disrupt the entire ecosystem, starting down south where it's cold and eventually reaching around the entire world. We're part of an intricate puzzle, whether you want to believe it or not.) ANYWAY. Even if all of this global warming 'crap' had a 5% chance of being true, I'd start working on that Fallout shelter someone was talking about. You wanna risk the world with 95% chances? Hell no. Most /scientists/. Not liberals. Not politicians. Not citizens. CERTIFIED scientists. (and by most I mean 99%) agree that there is /something/ going on up there in that sky of ours. Carbon emissions is bad.

As for the whole cows thing, they produce 18% because we've specifically engineered them to reproduce rapidly, efficiently, and generally increased their size and output by quite alot to feed our kids. That's the plan. Me? I'm leaving this hellpit one way or another, global warming or not. Gliese 581 c, here I come.

Well, DL, the ice caps did not always exist. They must have formed at some point, and there were probably ice caps some time before these ones formed which melted. It's just the cycle of the Earth. As I've said, we might be accelerating it slightly, but we're certainly not causing it.

Yes, the ice caps didn't exist at one point. The Earth was also an ice ball at one point. It was also a fiery death pit of molten lava and barren rock. The current stage that Earth is in is /our/ stage. The one that things can actually live in. If the Ice cap's just decided to disappear, and then even if nothing else went wrong...half the earth would flood. All of southeastern America, a large amount of Central America, but that's only America. Even seen the movie 'Water World'? So as I said, even if we aren't causing it, we should be damn well worried about it. Maybe doing something, if we're so determined it isn't actually us.

Yea.

The co2 in our atmosphere went from 250ppm before the industrial revolution to 360ppm today. Thats 36/100,000 thousandths of one percent. Carbon dioxide is one of the rarest gases in the atmosphere. The v8 in my chevy and the lack of a cat in my ford isnt causing it. We arnt going to stop those volcanoes. Are we gonna keep complaining about this? Im not. Im worried about those sneaky north koreans, or those land mind planting afghanistanians, or those pirating somalians, or those sadr city iraqis, or those swat valley pakistanians, the list goes on and on.

The fact of the matter is this is one of those things that people just whine about but really isnt important. Like PETA sending obama that fly trapper thing. Really PETA, really? Its a freaking fly!

I say we just make CO2 illegal... I don't see a downside.

Really though, I don't global warming is going to have any immediate effects, and if anything, very subtle effects later on. My state hasn't had a high over 102 degrees in over 30 years. Tell me that doesn't have anything to do with it. :?

What about in the antarctic?
There aren't seasons there. None; and yet the ice is melting in huge amounts.

Well my state has had 107 degree temperatures today, at least my city, but then again, Texas is always anti-cold.
