Varmor, I'm sorry to hear that. I always liked you, and as the owner of your soul, I should hope that I have a say in whether you leave.

If you really want to then, I suppose you can. Speak to you on MSN sometime, perhaps.

and there's even an extra smiley

everything seems a bit more chunky which will take a little getting used to. i like how you can see what threads you've posted in with the black dot. and the spoiler bbcode works great so you are very unlikely to read something you didn't want to.

well done to nephele and others for putting it together so quickly! :D

I think that smiley was there before... I could be wrong, though.

Anyway, I agree, it's a bit blocky and will take some getting used to. It's a little more intimidating, too; don't ask me why. All in the process, I guess.

i think it seems intimidating (aren't we like bunny rabbits or something) because the outlines are harder, the fonts are bigger and there's more space. makes it jump out at you compared to the last setup. after a few weeks we'll probably forget what the old forum looked like.

I've been working with this forum for a couple of days now, for testing etc, and I'm already used to it ;)
And the fonts are smaller on my screen. It's much more organised and easier to read.

ah, i think the font seemed larger for me because my browser was zoomed in a little. once it was reset it didn't look anywhere near as imposing.

i notice that firefox doesn't use antialiasing for the fonts whereas IE does which makes it seem softer. checked FF options but there's nothing to add AA

there is method to my madness.
why do sheep bleat? to let each other know they're there. each bleat doesn't have much more to say than that. i'm here, the wolf hasn't got me, you can continue eating grass.

well, some of the posts in this forum (probably many of them mine) don't really say much either. it reminds me of sheep

Here's a fun fact about myself:
I hate the new layout. It's really ugly. It has too much cream, brown and outlining. The font colour picker is jarring. The line of smilies is too long. The icons are weird. It feels a lot more amateur.

So yeah! I'm not opposed to the re-organisation, though, because it's okay (though I do think that the TES forums should be in chronological order :P)

I actually use subsilver (I can't be the only one), so it really doesn't look too different..
I mean, apart from the fact that everything's bigger and I now have this awesome colour palette on the right.
And a friends list, and the text is different..
But background-wise everything is the same.

Very much so.

Yet...

Honestly the old forums looked more rustic, and I'm incredibly partial to rustic. This one looks like a neo-cyber Windows 95 on antidepressants.

I'm not a fan of the new forums either. They seem so... cluttered and messy.

But I am a fan of the icons for your posts  .

that's ok, it happens more and more as you get older - you get sentimental about the smallest things :P

but i felt the same way about XP. it was all so graphically and unnecessary but now i can't imagine going back to 98 - no way. (felt the same about 95 after 1.3). i draw the line at vista though  load of nonsense - wobbly windows huh, what next? letters that have their own personalities?

I have to say I never ever want to move on to vista. Unless they make a new OS that doesn't look so futuristic, I am staying with xp. It's the best OS system. It isn't transparent nor does it have rounded edges on windows (not so much anyways), and it's quick and quick (and quick). Previous windows were just too meh. XP all the way babeh. XP [insert my sig]

I said the same things about Vista until I was forced to get it for my computer, and now I prefer it a LOT over XP. Of course, I still want my OS-X system...

Thing is, Vista is probable quite slow unless you have a top knotch machine. OS are supposed to be quick, and that's why I like XP, I don't have to wait for anything.

Wow, that can't be good at all. Go to the doctor.
