So I wanna start playing airsoft...
...and I figures this mixed group of people will surely have some knowldge about it.
I have two questions so far, and any further help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
1.Would this gun be a good entry-level gun?
2.Can the shells used by airsoft shotguns be filled up and used after they have been already shot?

That is the exact same airsoft gun that I have. Yes, it is very good quality and I highly recommend it. Check out HobbyTron Airsoft.com for the same gun, but they say it has a higher FPS.
2. Yes, they can.

You may also want an uzi for some hit and run/close range attacking style, which is what I tend to do.LunarSweets wrote:...and I figures this mixed group of people will surely have some knowldge about it.

Sorry mate, but that gun is -removed-.
Im affraid its quite an expensive hobby, your not gonna get a decent rifle for less than abot 150 quid (200 dollars). Played it myself a few years back.
type in airsoft in google and it'll give you some good sites ( tryed putting the links up myself, but apparently im a spammer according to these forums ???)
To start off youll need a good AEG (automatic electric gun), it has a battery like a radio controlled car and fires bbs fully automatic or single (determinded by the selector switch) at about 600 rpm, from a 70 round magazine.
Theres two main "makes" of AEG airsoft gun , Tokyo Mauri and Classic Army. TM is are lower quality, but cheap ( when i say cheap i mean cheaper). CAs are expensive, but very good quality and they pack a punch (took a 6 round burst in the face from about 70 meters, from my mate with a CA M16. good times). They both have a huge range of assult rifles, so you should have no trouble kitting your self out like your best action hero.
For a pistol, gas ones are best, the glock 17 in particular is an excellent choice for a beginner.
Get urself some army gear, couple of batteries and magazines, sack of bbs and your away!
oh and get goggels! very important.
and yes, the shotties just fire a hand full of bbs from the shell at once, the shells are used like a magazine. check out the grenade lauchers aswell. very fun.

I wann start aisoftn too, this m14 looks nice, but I honestly have no idea what wep to get for airsoft, I just use any BB/Pellet gun that's around me(my Mp5,Ak,M4,Sig saeur p229,glock,W1200)
My best guns were my spring M4(Crazy ass powerful), and the m1911a1 my bro get me for my B-day.
I know a Chinese guy in a market that sells powerful springs(Illegal ones)

Nothing at all, if your just planning to head down to the woods with ya mates and plink at each other. For a proper airsoft game, at an airsoft club tho... im afraid you'd find yourself heavily out gunned. Im guessing that gun is single action, mainly made of plastic and fires about 50 feet max. Very nice looking gun, but simply not up to airsoft standard and good luck getting extra magazines for it.randomfrog wrote:What's wrong with the gun, Kaneous?
If your wanting to start some airsoft, then best thing to do is head down to your local club on game days and hire all the kit and your gun for the day. That way if you dont like it, then you havnt wasted the cash

I dont want to start a war, but...
*ahem* 390 fps (0.12 g BB) / 280 fps (0.2g BB) / 150-175 feet *ahem*
*cough*Cough*cough*
In any case, you've been pretty helpful, so no need to make you mad. I'm at least glad your helping, kaneous.

Haha, ill believe that when i see it. The fact remains that it cost $30. I know from the experience of being a 14 year old spending all his pocket money on 20 quid (30 dollar) bb guns that there not worth it, unless like i said you just want to plink at ur mates.LunarSweets wrote:I dont want to start a war, but...

Im just trying to steer you guys away from the way i got into airsoft: buying cheap guns that break in half when your diving for cover because the other fella who saved up his cash is cutting the world in half with his M60 machine gun (check them out aswell, very nice, pricey tho)

Trust me, if I could, I'd definitly buy one of those shiny 300 dollar snipers. For now, I'm staying entry level.

War started! Haha j/k. I dont know about airsoft, but i used to play paintball a lot back in the day. FPS was essentially adjustable and you have to adjust it according to the field regulations. I think 280 was the limit, you can buy a little chrono for like $70. Helps if you want to adjust the sights on your gun as well. I always imagined airsoft would be much faster than paintball.LunarSweets wrote:I dont want to start a war, but...

still got mine at the back of the cupboard, when i moved in with my housemates, somin compelled me to bring it along with 6 extra mags, waiting for that reunion match where i get shot to [censored] one last time
plus games of airsoft can last upto a week (hardcore airsofters). The place where i played had a rule saying that guns should not exceed 500 fps, tho im sure alot did.
Its alot more tactical and hurts a bit moreleroybrown wrote:War started! Haha j/k. I dont know about airsoft, but i used to play paintball a lot back in the day. Re: So I wanna start playing airsoft...
So, I've come to a crossroads money wise. I can either:
A) Sell of a bunch of games for my 360 that I dont play. (Sadly, this includes Oblivion)
*I would have to wait until the 18th until I come to a time when I can sell them.
*Even if I do try to sell them, there is a possibility no one would buy them.
B)Try to beg my dad for the report card money he still owes me.
*Lord knows how long it would take for him to give the money to me. He's really bad about promises.
C) Do the honest thing and earn the money by working for my grandmother.
*I'm lazy.
*This woud probably be the most reliable way. But I have limited time, meaning the rest of this week.
So, any help would be wonderful and greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Option C. Working to get money is far more rewarding than begging or just selling some stuff.LunarSweets wrote:So, I've come to a crossroads money wise. I can either:

Re: So I wanna start playing airsoft...
About your gun. It's a good gun but you are not going to want to be on the front lines with it. My friend has it and you have to be pretty strong to cock it, which can be bad if that's the only weapon you have. You should also be a good sniper, as that's what you'll be doing with it. But if you really want to get front lines I recommend getting an automatic rifle and pistol for backup.
Well wrap me around your neck and call me a pedant.

Re: So I wanna start playing airsoft...
it depends how you play really. i was always gas shotgun, gas pistol guy who made everyone surrender in their own base. i got a few nasty welts but i got a lot of people. I've played where it's like 3 on 3, but ive played 9 on 9 as well, where we did the whole front lines, support lines, 'medics' for when you get shot you lie on the ground, and your not allowed to be shot, but if a 'medic' pulls you to safety you can rejoin.

Re: So I wanna start playing airsoft...
Oh, I like that medic idea, I bet it was pretty fun. I heard from someone that they were able to attach a pretty ig gun to the back of a go kart and were able to drive it around doing drive-bys and the like. I imagne that would be incredible.

Yeah, i used to go to big airsoft events with my friend Dylan, and we'd try stuff like that. Once we played at an abandoned house on his street and we set up 'mines' where if you stepped on a plastic plate, you were 'wounded' and had to be saved by a medic.
