Japanese is awesome, I almost singed up for a course at the start of the year. I still know a few words though and I can introduce myself. Though it would be strangely hilarious if I went up to a Japanese and said:leroybrown wrote:One day im going to have to learn japanese, when that day comes im going to blow up your inbox. Im not being sarcastic. Long story. If you have any kind of link or suggestion or something on how to get started you would be my hero.Sublymonal wrote:[I went through a period where I tried to learn multiple languages, but now I'm just down to Japanese and Latin, and I have school for Latin.] So, I'm gonna try to do that.

Not really. I felt the same when I first joined but it's actually quite useful for organizing stuff. Just one thing though, stay away from Facebook quizzes, they are fail.ironmaiden83 wrote:I signed up for Facebook. Fail.

That's interesting. How's it feel to be everybody?Misty [lol] wrote:Hajimemashte, Minnasan desu. Yoroshku.

Minnasan is a nickname I got from one of my many Japanese studying friends, I can't even remember who it was now. It feels rather awesome to be everybody.Sublymonal wrote:That's interesting. And so far in the two hours and 25 minutes of this day I've mostly been very sleepy and contemplated sleeping....

Just come back from seeing my dad's band play in the St. John's Street Fayre. If you were there, r, you probably saw him. He was in the Bounty Hounds

So I worked at the racecourse from noon until gone midnight yesterday then 9 until 7:45 today. I am more or less clinically dead now, but highlights of the weekend included:
* A crazy Afro-American woman constantly giving me massive tips
* Seeing a customer who we decided looked like a Latvian oil baron
* Having a long-overdue re-union with a guy who I worked with there last year
* Hearing Midge Ure playing 'Vienna'. It was epic.
* Repeatedly serving a customer who looked like Jimmy Saville, and every time he got out of earshot we were turning to each other and saying "Now then, now then! The band was... Showaddywaddy!" and the like.
Now it's time for a JD and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow I think.

Ha, I hate having to sit at the front in the cinema! You spend the entire film looking vertically up. I'd much rather spend £10 on sweets then go in a bit early and eat them all.Dogmantra wrote:I did the same as yeepo, but with Transformers 2.
I am never sitting right in the front again (we were a bit late into the cinema)
And I've just finished (re)reading the book of Angels & Demons.

It's an awesome book, once it gets going the pace just doesn't let down until the end. I think it's Dan Brown's best. Yes, it is better than The Da Vinci Code.yeepo wrote:Personally I think the book is much better than the movie.r wrote:And I've just finished (re)reading the book of Angels & Demons.

I spent the whole day in my aunt's house for my cousin's 3rd Birthday party. I thought it'd be horrible, I'd imagined a gajillion people waist high running around hyped up to the eyeballs and food everywhere...
In the end the only small kids were my sister and my cousin, everyone else was older than me.
Then we went out to blow bubbles 'for the kids' and the 'the kids' played in the sandbox while 10 adults sat on the deck and blew these huge bubbles with a triangular wand thingy that comes in a sword bottle thingy..
Hard to describe it.
But basically the adults sat and watched bubbles twice the size of your head floating up and bursting on us for an hour and a half. Then we ate cake.
Was actually quite fun.

Read it a few months ago. I liked it a lot. Wasn't big on mystery before but liked this one. I'm guessing I shouldn't see the movie?r wrote:It's an awesome book, once it gets going the pace just doesn't let down until the end. I think it's Dan Brown's best. Anyway, my only problem was that it included random parts of... well I'll get censored for saying it so I just won't but you get it
