It's not glass in the way that we think of glass, is the simple answer. The long answer can be found here and here. Admittedly those aren't very detailed, but the basics is that glass in Elder Scrolls isn't like, sand heated until it becomes glass, it's made from volcanos and it's very hard and durable. Think diamond (sort of) in the real world, if it were green.

It should also be noted that Ebony isn't wood, and Daedric is highly refined Ebony with a Daedra soul infused in the process.

Edit:
On the subject of armor, Dwarven armor is misnamed, it is Dwemer armor.

Glass armor is volcanic material, not meteoric.

What I don't get is the fact that it isn't made out of actual dwarves.

Iron armor is made of iron. Ebony armor is made of ebony. So, what is Elven armor made out of...
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

It would be invariably tasty. Minus the hair that would come with it. The bones would be crunchy, I suspect. :p

I really hate the look of the Glass helm, I actually don't like the look of many helms and normally don't wear them

Yes Glass armor looked 100 times better in morrowind, hopefully for TES V they will go back to that look.

they might just change it though. What i mean is that they might be doing another country and it might just be that they want to change the color to say like blue because the ore in the ground is different from the other countries. But in relation i do think that it was better in Morrowind not because it was cool looking but that it was light cost allot and it was hard to find.
If somethign doesn't look right look at it again.

We have sentient lizards getting high off licking semi-sentient trees, we can let the glass thing go.
I would be a procrastinator, but I keep putting it off.

Just cause it is called "Glass" doesn't mean it is made of glass in the game.. It's a game. Plus, what glass is green?

Green glass is actually a fairly frequent color, I know a lot of glass bottles are either brown or green.
“Fine day” said the young man.

“Gods!” hollered Zaki, sending the young man flying with a well-placed punch, and dashing away.
