Problem with moving

I'm using windows XP and playing daggerfall, but I'm unable to move backwards, and alot of the enemies stay in the same spot, but spin in circles. I'm not using dosbox (it doesn't work with dosbox for some reason, but works without.) I'm wondering if anyone knows a fix for this, it's hard to play, especially when I can't move backwards

Also, as a sidenote, my sound is kinda messed up. digital sound breaks up and alot of the time midis are shaky as well
